What if dumbledore died?

would harry have just blundered about in school like a headless chicken just waiting for Voldemort to kill him? It would be interesting to see how he reacts.

Naa.. if Dumbledor dies.. who will then take over the school?? Umbridge again.. or someone like her?? don´t think Dumbledor dies.. and if he does.. who will then keep snape away from harry??.. and se that Harry and his friends don´t get into too much danger without the right ppl protecting them??

Even if Dumbledore dies, which I hope he doesn't, he's now the most well written character with the death of Sirius, Harry will be fine, he has so many other people, powerful wizards, looking out for him. While none are of the level of DD, they are very powerful. And as for Snape, he is one of those wizards. He would not go after Harry, in fact, he would protect him. If DD trusts Snape as much as he does, then I have to believe this is true.

yeah, McGonagall is the vice headmistress, i think she would become head mistress.

Dumbledore represents the good side (he´s the most powerful good wizard, and he´s the only one voldemort is afraid of) while voldemort represents the bad side. So I don´t think that dumbledore will die before the seventh book. Maybe in the end...who knows?

nah, the only way LV will go after Harry is if DD is not there. and once Harry's gone, he can go after DD. however, the first part of this little plan is unlikely to happen, even.

That exactly is the problem. With Dumbledore around, Harry is safe. But how can he ever be a hero when he's constantly protected, when there's never a real danger for his life? Sure, DD's death would be terrible, but either that or boring, there's hardly any alternative. In every 'good vs bad' battle, there has to be a point where the reader asks himself: "Oh my god, how are they ever gonna get out of this?" Personally, I believe that this point will be at the end of book 6, as a cliffhanger so to say. But that's impossible with someone as strong as DD around, so for the sake of Harry being the Hero, DD has to die.

but i think you're right, i think dumbledore will die in one of the next two books. at the end of book 5 JK made us see that DD really is an old man, if an extremely powerful one. i think she is probably leading us on to show how one of his "old man's mistakes" will probably lead to his own death

If Dumbldore died he would have already left information to who would care for Potter! A lot of people are available!! Dumbledore wouldn't just die and then many problems would exist! And anyways I still think that the sorcerer's stone is still around!!
