This is a new Boggart idea!

What would have happened if The Sorting Hat had insisted on sorting Harry into Slytherin? Or what if Harry had become friends with Draco Malfoy instead of Ron during their first journey on the Hogwarts Express? Wander into alternative Harry Potter universes here.

This is a new Boggart idea!

What if a person's biggest fear was a boggart? In this case, would the boggart maintain its shape, therefore showing its true self? Just some queries. :D

Lupin said that no one knows how boggarts look like when they're on their own, but I suppose it someone's fear was a boggart, he would be able to see it as it really looks like.

Then again, is it possible to see something if you don't know how it really looks? Does the boggart have to be based on your memories or imagination?

That is an interesting thought!! Can your worst fear be something you've never seen :???: But then my worst fear is probably heights and that isn't really something tangible its a perception :-?

Here is another thought. Why haven't boggarts ever been seen in their natural form? Afterall Moody saw one with his eye in Ootp, so what did it look like to him? It didn't know it was being watched so it couldn't have transformed into what Moody fears the most.

Sheer genius, Pallas.

I thought it was a good thought, which is a first for me.

hmm smart question.

i always thought that a boggart's original form would be a wobbly shapechanging indefinate one, like an amoeba.

but i dont know why anyone would be afraid of a boggart. i mean one fears a boggart because it shows you your worst fear, and if you have a worst fear then a boggart wont be your worst fear, or maybe thinking of your worst fear makes the boggart your worst fear.

umm... i am not making sense to myself at the moment!! :-?

Yes you are, Groo. I have to say that your amoeba idea is very much liked, but not quite what I had in mind. I always thought that they were a humanoid shape of some kind, without being recognizable as some other humanoid shape. Now I'm being confusing. :???:

But I think your biggest fear could be a boggart, because you don't know what it will turn into. But then, wouldn't the fear of the boggart itself over ride the greatest fear you had?

Man, this reminds me of the whole "Well, I saw myself conjur the patronus, so I know I could do it, but if I hadn't, I probably wouldn't have a soul right now".

if one's fear was a boggart it would not fear the boggart its self but what it changes into?

naah you werent confusing Deedra.

umm... i have to admit that if that patronus conjuring thingy was acceptable then this Boggart idea definately should be. but i still have my doubts whether a boggart can be anyone's
biggest fear

i was just thinking about that...does it have to be something that you can see-like a spider-or could it also be like (i don´t know who said that) what if your worst fear would be fear of height...what would the boggart transform into? Maybe a cliff or a skyscraper...but wouldn´t that be too big??

I´m a bit confused at the moment... :???:

Fear of hight - boggart would suddenly form into a huge hole (who said that it cannot form into a "thing" Like u know if u r afraid of hights and u look into smth deep - u r scared because u r on top of that huge hole.

What about greatest fear being left alone , by urself, with nothing in exsitence? ^^
