I have a question. In book 2, when Harry is transported back in time, riddle is in an orphanage because his mom died and his dad abondoned him. Then, in book 4, in the first chapter, it implies that the riddles grew and became elderly and were later killed. How can this be if Tom's mom died shortly after he was born?

I think Sonkem is right....Mr Riddle (toms dad) left Toms mum and remarried a muggle...then they had a son...If I rember rightly also called Tom.
... Tom (Voldemort Tom) then went back and killed the whole lot of em....and Frank got the blame.

I think thats what happened anyway :grin:

As far as I remember his father (also named Tom) returned to his parents... Have to look it up.

erm... wasn't chapter one of book 4 about Voldemort coming back to kill his father and his grandparents?! [o_O] *lost*

ok....

in book 4 its states that 50 years ago the Riddles were killed....

that means voldemort did it straight after he left school so hes still young so his father must still be fairly young

it then says

Elderly Mr and Mrs Riddle had been rich, snobbish and rude, and their grown-up son, Tom, had been even more so.

well that suggests that mr grown-up son Tom is voldemort's father Tom who must have gone back to live with his rich parents after discovering his wife was a witch and dumping her
