JK Rowling's Improved Site

Postby saberkitty » Monday 17 May 2004 5:31:39am

JK Rowling's site has been upgraded form just a bunch of links to a website full of eastereggs. Lots of fun and new information about the books and Rowling herself.

That's a very impressive site now - great to read stuff directly from JKR too. Some very interesting information there. I think I went everywhere but didn't end up with anything in my scrapbook - maybe I'll be able to add something later on a return visit. :-)

And Molly Weasley was called Molly Prewett before marriage, that's interesting, isn't it?

I saw some phonenumbers. In the same place where there is the rubber, there are many numbers. You cannot see the whole number in any card, but some are repeated, so you can "merge" 2 or 3 to get the number. (When you are entering the screen there is a number on the upper right corner which gets covered. You can use "print screen" on the exact moment to paste it in paint if you like). However, the phone numbers are too long. Perhaps it doesn't have anything to do...
If somebody finds it out, please tell me. (I only found 3 easter eggs till now)

I just spent almost an hour on her site.
Now I know what Paul ment about not getting anything for his scrap book.
There is a lot of great ancillary information there.
It's kind of like the special features on a DVD.

One thing though I will probably still refer to LV as Voldie sometimes in my posts Sorry JK it's a free country

Cool site. I have found everything for the hidden potion except the bug!
Oh has anyone been able to click on that damn fly?
I think if you can something might happen.

Phone number

Postby Paul » Saturday 22 May 2004 4:52:43pm

Thanks for mentioning the phone, Mint, Phinea and Mr3d. I hadn't even thought about trying any numbers when I first visited. Just been back and tried something, and it worked! Got to say a total wow!!! when you see what it leads too as well!

Now I'm wondering should I give the number here, or just a clue, or maybe give it to anyone who asks for it by PM, so as not to spoil the fun of trying for everyone. Or should I just not say the number or any clues at all. :-)

I've tried clicking on the butterfly and the spider - nothing happening with them so far...they just fly or crawl off on their merry way. Think I clicked the fly on my first visit (not sure though - he or she is fast!)

The number... I think, if anyone really wants it... just ak for it! or try google.

I read that you cannot clic on the fly nor on the butterfly.
The locked door seems to be a room in "development". There are many crazy theories on the net to explain what is it going to be used for.

And by now (may 222004) there's only 4 easter eggs...
Perhaps they'll add more...

You are supposed to collect things on the website to get hidden items. Like an original page from the sorcerers stone. Type Peeves in the phone, or however you spell his name, and you will get something.
