your wand

Postby Athena Appleton » Monday 3 May 2004 4:06:49am

An interesting question was posed to J.K. Rowling a while back: if you had a magic wand, what kind is it?

Well, I thought it might be fun, since a lot of us pretend to have wands in here anyway, to imagine up what our wands are.

Mine is made of oak, with a toddler hair for a core. As we all know, the core is from something that has extraordinary magic, and toddlers definately have their own brand of magic. Beware, though... that toddler hair core can be very tempermental if you don't treat it properly.

This is a neat idea.
I wont post my wand yet because I want to think about it first,
but I am definatly interested in what everyone else comes up with!

Hmmmmmmm, mine would be willow too, cause it's my fav tree. About 10" long, and the core would be..............niffler claw, cause they're naughty and that wand would be great at playing mischievous tricks on people, not mean - only a bit Gred & Forge like.

Mine would be made of cedar and about 10.5 inches long. The core would be Hippogriff feather so it would get angry and shoot sparks at me if I dropped it or mistreated it.

only a bit Gred & Forge like.
LoL! I just read that part the other day and I didn't catch it the first time's I've read it. I about laughed myself crazy.

Mine woud be 3 inches bodark containing walrus whiskers.

It'll fit nicely on my key ring. Can you imagine what it's like carrying a 12 inch stick all day?

I can't decide whether to  or . So much for how you wield a wand being more important than its length.

Anyway, my wand would be 11 inches long, made of oak recovered from a whisky cask, with skin from the Loch Ness Monster as the core.

(For those of you from the International Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Mythical and Magical Creatures, allow me to reassure you that Nessie sheds her skin periodically, and wasn't harmed in the creation of this wand.)
