Nicknames

Who do you like best and who could you definately live without? Will there be romance in the air for any of them and who will end up with who?

Okay, let's add some Slavic nicknames to them...

Severus = Severusko, Severusík, Severuško, Severko (that's rather cute, isn't it, I like Severko, it could mean something like 'little north')

Ron = Roník, Ronuško...

Albus = Albusko, Albuštek :grin:

Lucius = Lucuško, Lucinko... :D :D :D

This is off topic but I just have to say that I will have to wait many more years for Croatia's enterence in EU. We're too pathetic... :( But, I'm glad for your entrance - EU will help you develope even more

Yeah, those nicks are great too :grin:

More Slavic Power

Postby Reverie Revenge » Sunday 2 May 2004 4:53:50pm

He, he, the EU is ours :razz: deffinitelly :grin:

Croatia, don't be sad, your music is already in the EU, I love Colonia! I think Ira from Colonia could be a perfect cast for Bella! Dark, evil-looking fatal vamp woman! :lol:
Hey, Bella is a nickname too! It means ''beautifull'' in Italian!

Sirius --> Sorči Sirči (= sorry, little cheese) Wow, I can't imagine Sirius say cheese while taking a photo - he'd not smile but grin :grin: :P

Voldemort - in Slovenian translation Mrlakenstein (= stone of the dead corps or something like that) --> Mrlaki, Mrlakec (hopefully I will not feel his Avada the next minute, making jokes of the Dark Lord;)

Severko - this one rules but I think Snape would like his nickname to sound more magnificent ... :P Like ''the ultimate potions master noone makes jokes of'' --> but it's a title, not a nickname anymore :-?

Ron --> Ronček Bonbonček (= Ronnie Sweet, Ronnie Candy, ...)

Draco --> he doesn't need the nickname, in our translation he's Dreco; his name means sth. like ''little s**t'' or ''shitty''. In Slovene ''drek'' means ''s**t'', originated from German word ''der Dreck''. Enough of s**t 4 you? But Draco, like ''dragon'' or ''serpent'', it suits him better :) , better matches his character.

Dumbledore --> maybe we'll go further south, because in Slovenia we don't use the ''ć'' --> Albus --> Albić

Help me:
Hey, because I'm not English native speaker I don't understand the joke about Sirius' middle name Lee. I want to laugh too, Untouchable8605, please explain it! Thx :D

Neighbours

Postby Reverie Revenge » Monday 3 May 2004 6:53:53pm

in Slovene: Nazdravimo na dobre sosedske odnose! (= let's make a toast to good neighbours' relationships). :D

So, even if you don't like Colonia, do you think Ira would fit into the role of Bella??? *dying of curiosity* :-? :-? :-?

Ronček Bonbonček (= Ronnie Candy) was in our translation actually, Fred and/or George called him so, being mummy's boy :lol:

And, I'm endlessly ashamed :oops: not to figure out the joke Untouchable8605 made. Sirius -Lee- Black :razz:
Let me excuse & explain myself - I'll feel less stupid then :razz:
I always tried to join Lee+Black and never Sirius+Lee=Seriously :roll: . Now I get the joke but Sirius was really seriously Black, like a dog too.

I think Ira would be a good choice for Bellatrix (or Belluška, Bellinka?), but she's not really how I see her (I imagine her tinier - rather tall, but still very slim, a bit frail-looking, I don't know why).

Bella, frail??? :???: Maybe, now after Azkaban. But I had in mind Ira like she's in videos, not like she's with 15 extra kg :razz:

Hermione: it's interesting when she teaches Viktor Krum to pronounce her name. He always mispronounces that it sounds like her-my-own. Far too possessive guy :roll:

I know, it sounds a bit funny... In my mind she's tall, but very slim, kind of like a photomodel, you know, probably because she's described once as beautiful (at least before going to Azkaban) and a beautiful woman for me is tall, black-haired and slim.

Anyway, Tom Riddle - Tomáško (that's a real nickname for Thomas here.)
