Would you take any of the characters as a role model?

Who do you like best and who could you definately live without? Will there be romance in the air for any of them and who will end up with who?

Would you take any of the characters as a role model?

Postby Female_alien » Wednesday 24 March 2004 6:19:03pm

Since J.K. is such a great witer who created so many wonderful characters, I'm wondering would you take any of the characters as a role model? Who and why?

I can't choose just one, so my answer will be Lupin, Luna, Arthur and McGonnagol.
Lupin - he's so smart, calm, modest, such a good friend and a great professor
Luna - different, interesting. She's crazy and down to Earth.
Arthur - just read Athena's thread "Weasleys kids" to see how wonderful Arthur is
McGonnagol - I find she is a very smart and good person. She's not so opened to the world, but the way she talked and behaved with Umbridge - I love her !(Minerva, not Umbridge)

If I end up being a teacher, I think the role model would be Lupin as he's a role model for a perfect teacher - very kind, learned and friendly. He's got not only the knowledge, he's got so much more, his kindness and understanding of his students, that's wonderful.

I guess Hermione is my role model.
I believe that I should study more like her...It's just that I'll never get as smart.

Snape, man. Every kid should look up to him.
But seriously, he has some good aspects. If not, then he'd probably still be a Death Eater. Hmm... good qualities... he's madly loyal to Dumbledore, he's passionate about his job, and he doesn't care about outward appearances! Yay for Snape!

Seriously this time, I think Dumbledore is the best role model. He doesn't sugarcoat things, he has wisdom, strength, and power, but he doesn't seem inaproachable; he still enjoys simple things, like Bertie Bott's! He's like the perfect teacher/friend/older person to look up to.

I know what you mean Morning star (can I call you just MS?). thought of Dumbledore too, but than again I didn't take him. I don't know why. Maybe because he's so old? Stupid reason really

I could never be like Hermione since my concentracion is - well, it lasts very little - my thought very easily float away  Taking her as a role model is a mission impossible for me - why to take her when I allready know it's useless

Good choice Phinea

In Dumbledore there's one thing I really appreciate - giving second chances to people the others would probably never give (I hope you understand what I mean, I'm too tired to think correctly), I mean like giving a chance to someone who was once a Death Eater and similar things.

Like to Snape? Yes, I think I know what you mean. Or like giving Hagrid a job and being his friend although everybody thpught he opened the chamber of secret. He trusted him and gave him hope. That is really something to look up to

Yes, trusting in Snape, employing Hagrid and Lupin. I wonder whether he has some bad qualities too.

Totally agree! I love them all, too. Especially Lupin :P . I'd also count Harry in for being so... fine 8) . And after all every positive character in this book has something nice and interesting when it comes to behaviour and soul. And the bad ones -   (hell with'em!).

I don't have any 'real' role model, more something like ppl that remind me a bit on myself or that I like...Hermione for example, she's smart and ppl always tell me that I'm just like her, then Luna,I'm just as crazy as her.I like Dumbledore cause he's so wise, and Sirius cause he's free and wild, but I would never want to be exactly like them so they're not my real role models..And I forgot Tonks, she's messy just like me!

Role model

Postby Lone_Buck » Sunday 4 April 2004 10:22:35pm

I'm gonna have to go with ginny on this one. She's small and not very powerful(physically), But she's brave and devoted.

No, I didn't mean on that when I asked for a role model. Is there anyone who has some characteristic you'd like to have, that you really think is wonderful and that more people should be like, that you wish you were a little like that person. Not much (not some opsession I WANNA BE LIKE DUMBLEDORE OR I'LL KILL MYSELF, more like THIS DUMBLEDORE IS SO WISE-HE KNOWS THE ANSWER On ALMOST EVERY QUESTION-AND HE'S SO GOOD TOO - HE GIVES HOPE AND FRIENDSHIP TO PEOPLE THAT REALLY NEED IT - I wish there were more poeple like him, or I wish I could be like that), just a little, the thing you like.

Ginny, really? I wasn't expecting anybody to say this. But when you explained it,it has sence.
