the weasley kids

Who do you like best and who could you definately live without? Will there be romance in the air for any of them and who will end up with who?

the weasley kids

I just read a message in theories about someone saying Arthur Weasley is pretty much a bumbling idiot (those weren't the words... I think he was called a klutz or inept or something)...

I don't think Arthur Weasley is inept. All the Weasley children are very talented (really, with Ron being the least bit, but he's still got some power in his punch). Not only that, they are all strong-willed, and stand up for their beliefs (unfortunately, Percy's beliefs differed from the rest of the family, but he still stood up for them, even when it meant his being the estranged son)... I feel like Arthur and Molly have a lot to do with the talent and personalities of their children, and, while Arthur is a fun character because of his obsession with Muggles, I think he's not one to tangle with.

I'm with you. I always found Arthur as a good, friendly and funny, but never stupid! I think he can be pretty dangerous if you hit the wrong spot.

something else, too... before we had children, I think a lot of people assumed that my husband and I were sort of pushovers... after we had kids, and we get more confident, we'll fight tooth and nail to stand up for them. I think Arthur Weasley, having seven children who are all quite powerful, must have some power, too... and, with the exception of one, those children all have the laid back personalities, but if you get on their bad sides, they can do some nasty stuff to ya.

I agree one hundred percent! Arthur is no push over I mean he actually had a physical fight with Lucius Malfoy in Flourish and Blotts, and most wizards are afraid of Malfoy but clearly Arthur is not!

You go Arthur!

I think that Arthur just has a peaceful way of dealing with things, like in GoF when the Weasleys arrive through the fireplace, and the Dursleys are really horrible. Arthur stands up for Harry and then deals with the Dursleys after Dudley eats a ton-tongue toffee, and everyone else leaves through the fireplace. I think that Arthur doesn't feel the need to prove his strength of magic. Usually people only feel the need to prove something when they are unsure of themselves.

And Arthur soooo isn't a klutz, he's a friendly, family-oriented, caring sharing wonderful wizard. he's such a great father-figure in the book, it sort of brings into a harsh light what harry lacks in his own life, though arthur & molly are more than willing to fill the gaps.

I agree with all of you supporters. I think Arthur is one to choose his battles wisely and perfect adept at winning his chosen battle. I think he and Molly have good family values and have raised wonderful children.

And I love the "personality" each of the Weasley's has been given by JKR. Each of them are wonderful characters and I find myself eager to have more about them each time I read any of the books.

The thing I think I like most about the Weasleys is that they're poor... it's mentioned all through the books that they have NO money... their children can't even have one set of new robes or a new wand for their first year at Hogwarts, and only get something new if it's ABSOLUTELY necessary... but they accept two more people into their home like they're family. Harry and Hermione are fed and sheltered on Arthur and Molly's dollar, and it's a true testament to how decent people they are that they happily accept their children's friends as their own, even when it would most assuredly make money matters even more tight (you notice Harry never has to pay for things, he does because he wants to do nice things for them, but they never mention the extra cost it would most likely be to have another teenage boy around the house)

I totally agree with you Athena. Weaslys are so good! They pay Harry's books and never even mention it - like he's really the part of the family. I wish there were more people on Earth like Molly and Arthur!

well... they're good but they aren't THAT good  They don't pay for his books and school stuff... Molly goes and gets money out of his Gringotts account. Only reason I really think she does that is Harry has new things (new robes, new books, etc.) and the Weasleys dont...
