no, we have to choose a topic that can have both in favour and against...altough when i think about it, i can think of something in favour of your suggestion

Yeah, i was wondering the same thing...i think that in debate clubs the teams are just randomly made and you have to defend the opinion of the team (one is in favour the other against) even if it's not your own opninion.
I'm not sure though...i've never been to/in a debate club , but this is how we did it during philosphy lessons
Plep's right...the person organising the debate should split the teams evenly and then guve one for and one against...then you debate, even if it's not your belief. The good debators are able to see from both perspectives.
well, we should make sure that some topics shouldn't be allowed, because not only may someone get offended, but a huge flame war may start, and that's what's destroyed many forums.
so we just have to be very careful about the topics we choose.
Lol, the above rules sound so much alike to Singapore's law, except for that no smoking in building rule but there are designated smoking area outside the air-conditioned areas.
that makes 14.I vote for the non-smoking law( ).And i don't care which side i take.we must invent an universal system to choose the teams or something.even if we choose sides-the numbers don't matter, right.i can take on anyone, having such a big mouth
