Flint should have left school before Prisoner of Azkaban

Which one is your favorite so far. Are they getting even better as the characters develop over time?

Flint should have left school before Prisoner of Azkaban

Postby Cougie » Tuesday 17 December 2002 5:38:52am

I've just noticed that in Philosopher/Sorcerer's Stone, when Marcus Flint is introduced he is "a sixth year". That means he sould be in his eighth year in Prisoner of Azkaban. But the school only goes to seventh year. Was this a mistake or did Marcus repeat or something? :???:

Yes, Rowling has stated a few times that Marcus Flint repeated a grade because he has the IQ of a lima bean.

Hey, don't diss the lima beans! They're quite fun to poke at and pose for pictures along side eggs.

Hehehehehee.... *is insane*

Flint wasn't mentioned at all in GoF, was he? :???: To flunk once is bad enough, but twice?? :o Still, until I read that he was held back, I kept wondering if I had forgotten how to read whenever I saw Flint's name in book 3!

Maybe he wasn't supposed to repeat, and JKR accidentally put him in more books. In which case, i applaude her on her quick thinking in covering her hind end.
