Truly, truly I don't think Lupin will die at all. And you're right. Being bludgeoned by a silver-handed Peter Pettigrew is too undignified. I don't think Sirius falling through the curtain/veil was all that undignified. At least it didn't hurt. (wasn't violent or malicious but rather accidental.)

What do you think of David Thewlis being cast as Lupin in PoA?

rev mom, i'm not sure he's how i've pictured lupin in my mind. but i'll wait to see the movie to decide for sure.

on the other side, gary oldman in my opnion is a good fit for sirius

I think wormtail's silver hand will be a bit of a red herring. It seems too obvious - everyone knows about werewolves and silver. Where is the suspense in that? Everyone will read it and think I can't believe JKR was that blatantly obvious. :mad:

maybe pettigrew tries to kill lupin, but he manages to evade it or something!! it's a possibility! Lupin is the closest friend he has now, that was also connected to his family! i can't see JK killing him off!! I would cry my heart out if she did! i love lupin!!

I've been thinking. Wouldn't Peter have been useful to Voldermort to sneak into the Ministry of Magic as Wormtail? Why didn't they use him?

Perhaps now that he has his silver arm/hand he can't transfigure at all? Or maybe it would seem a bit weird for a rat to be running around with a silver leg?

I don't think Lupin will die (at least not till the end). I think Sirius's death was enough to whittle down the Marauders for now.
