And besides, Nearly Headless Nick stated that Sirius would not come back as a ghost. And remember that Nick knows a little more about death than we do (I think)

I really pitied Nearly Headless Nick at the end of book 5... poor guy, he's just stuck between the two worlds.
nope, sirius is dead. it's just hard for us to accept it because faerie-tales and disney movies have taught us that good people live and flourish, and bad people either reform or are overcome. It doesn't fit in our nice little fictional-world box for Sirius to die and Harry to have to suffer more pain.

hey everyone! :D

im beginning to agree that sirius mightn't come back. although im upset becauz he is one of my favourite charachters. if sirius is gone and will not come back then maybe it will make harry a stronger person mentally.

but now that sirius is gone what is going to happen with harry will he remain at his aunt and uncles house for the rest of his years at school until he buys a house of his own or will he stay at grimmauld place, which is unlikely now that sirius is gone?? :???:

hmmm... well, i think it's clear at the end of book5 that harry will continue (reluctantly) staying with the Dursleys on summer holiday. Now that he knows there's a reason why he has to stay there, and he knows what his future holds in terms of Voldewart, he realizes the dangers of refusing to go back. Plus, he knows that this summer, the Dursleys have been threatened by no less than five fully-grown wizards that they have to be nice to him. :-)

After he's out of Hogwarts, it'll be the end of the series anyway, so either he'll be dead or the danger would have passed, and he can live pretty much wherever he wants.

Yup, Sirius is gone. I do think that the next two books will have references to him, maybe Harry will see someone else's thoughts in the pensive again to learn more about Lily, James and Sirius. I like to think of this trio in the same way as Hermoine, Ron and Harry

well if hermione, ron and harry are the second version of Lily James and Sirius then we basically have an outline of what will happen in the last book.
Hermione will end up marrying one of the boys.

The only thing is that, Lily, James and Sirius die fighting Voldemort and his supporters.

Will Harry Ron and Hermione end with the same fate???

Maybe, but wouldnt that be like history repeating itself, and from what was said in the prophecy if harry dies then we could assume that voldermort is still alive.

Yeah, I think it's kinda cool to think that Lily, James and Sirius were a "trio" just like Hermione, Ron and Harry are... but that's about as far as it goes. Anyway, I think Lupin would have been as much involved in that "trio" so it would be a "quartet"... then again, Neville could be added to the "trio" so it, too, would be a "quartet"... so we have a James, Sirius, Lupin, and Lily quartet and a Ron, Harry, Neville, Hermione quartet... but then Peter Pettigrew was in their little crowd until the very end, so it was a quintet... Hmmmm... SEAMUS!!!! Yeah, Seamus is reall an animagus rat... Okay, so we have a James, Sirius, Lupin, Peter, Lily quintet, and a Ron, Harry, Neville, Seamus, Hermione quintet... yeah..... I can't believe I just spent ten minutes of my life typing this post.

I've read somewhere that now that Harry knows about his fate, and that he knows he will be either murderer or killed, the problem is not the Dursleys... It's Voldy himself... SO, what I read was that Vernon and Petunia would not be upset Harry.

hmmm.... i think i'm logically-challenged today... i read somewhere that harry knows about his fate, too... dumbledore pretty much spells i out for him book 5, doesn't he?

Actually, I just meant that I think Harry now realizes that there's a reason he has to go back to the Dursleys... ummm... yeah. :-P

And it is really the safest place for harry at the Dursleys'

Voldy wouldn't jsut show up at 4 Privet Drive and kill harry infront of the snottiest muggles in all of England.

Dumbledore pratically told harry what he has to do, even if they aren't sure if its Neville or Harry who has to defeat Voldy in the end. REally i wouldn't be surprised if it is Neville, it'd add a twist to the storry.

It cant be neville that has to kill voldermort. In OoTP is said "the dark lord will mark him as his equal" and it is harry that has been marked as Voldermort's equal. while i dont doubt that neville has a role to play, it wont be the one of killing voldermort.

Hmmm... right... the most powerful dark wizard in a century is scared to go kill a 16-year-old who lives with snobby muggles...

Harry's only safe while he's at the Dursley's because of the charm of protection his mother gave him and Dumbledore sealed when he was a baby... even so, it's apparent that his protection is coming to an end, Voldy can now touch him (something he couldn't do before) and I'm not sure but I am fairly certain that while the charm protects him from Voldy, that protection doesn't extend to other wizards, creatures, or entities.
