Well, he'll grow older by then, I think... Elijah's a nice guy, but somehow I can't imagine him as Harry. He's simply Frodo.

Oh yeah... he's only ever said he'll be around for sure for the first 3 movies... he said he'd possibly do #4, but I really don't think they'll keep him around forever...

i think that elijah would be too old for the role of harry. But they probably will need someone else to play harry for the fourth movie.

Elijah Wood has kind of graduated in the movie industry... he's gone from being a child star to an adult. No way he'd be Harry or anyone else in the 14-18 age range now.

I don't think that Harry and Elijah look, except, they're both bad actors.Okay I already posted this in the 'Should there even be a fourth movie"thread ,but anyway...About the actors and fourth movie anyway:

Goblet of Fire
Since Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is still in production, there's not much to report about GoF but Warner Bros. have released the following information:
    Director
    Mike Newell

    Producer
    David Heyman

    Screenwriter
    Steve Kloves
It has been confirmed that Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson will all be returning to star in the fourth movie.
Work should begin on the film in April 2004 and is set for a worldwide release in late 2005
If you want to be in the fourth Harry Potter movie, Leavesden Studios have set up a special casting office to which you can write from January 2004.
You can only contact the casting office at the Studios. Send a short letter and a recent photograph to:
    Casting Office
    Leavesden Studios
    PO Box 322
    Watford
    Hertfordshire
    WD25 7XJ

This is the only address that will be accepting casting enquiries, and they won't be taking enquiries by fax or phone, ONLY those sent by post.
Warner Bros. have announced that they plan to make GoF fire into a 2 1/2 long film. The Save GOF group are against this idea and are dedicated to persuading Warner Bros. that it should be no less than a 4 1/2 hour movie.

it really annoys me cos LOTR was able to be around 3 hours long the return of the king was about 3.5 hours long!! why can't they do the same with harry potter! i mean cinema takings are really for harry potter as well as lord of the rings i don't see why they can't do the same,

I think it has a lot to do with who the target audience is. They know that LOTR attracts mostly high school and up. Harry Potter attracts a lot of younger kids (not exclusively, but the target audience is still children, preteens, and teenagers). A 2 1/2 hour movie for a target audience of 11-15 is already pushing it; they're usually, like, an hour and a half or so.

p.s. elijah wood is not a bad actor :-)

don't get me wrong! i love elijah wood!! he is fantastic a wonderful actor! but to me, being a big lotr fan, he will be frodo.
lotr was a 12a but still doesn't stop younger kids loving it too! my 11 year old brother absolutely loves it and he cried at the end of the third film, so i don't think it's fair to suggest the target audience is one of the reasons why they are making the films the lengths that they are. It's not the way it works.

The postscript on my last message was directed to, I think it was Fluffy Bear, who said that the only thing Daniel Radcliffe and Elijah Wood have in common is that they're both bad actors. BAD FLUFFY!!!

I wasn't saying that other people couldn't watch and thoroughly enjoy these movies, but it is a fact that movies have a target audience that helps them to decide certain aspects of the movie. And LOTR had an older target audience than Harry Potter. I think that's one reason (though, definately not the only reason) that LOTR could get by with being 3-4 hours and the Harry Potter movies are only in the 1 1/2-2 hour range. Personally, I think that the target audience for the Harry Potter books and movies is too young, and should be moved up some, but they market them to the 11-15 year old range (and I'm 24, and I know older people love them to, I'm talking target, not actual, audiences).

Yeah,I wrote that.I don't like Elijah! He's a bad actor, really. He's always making some funny faces, and I think that they could choose another actor for Frodo,he just doesn't fit in a hobit character.
