Just thought I'd let you all know that we are working furitively on the quiz. We're making great progress, we plan to have the quiz completed by Sunday (6 days from today). I hope you are all ready to fail.... hehe :red smile:

well it seems to be a bit late but anyway.
It happens to be that I hadn't noticed a thread in our common room where the newcomers had made some work on a few questions. So mainly I would like to apoogise for having overidden their efforts. also I was wondering if next quizz could be done by hufflepuff so their efforts werent in vain ?
I am really so sorry :oops:

please tell me what seems possible ?

i dont know if that would work, because shouldnt it be whoever wins this quiz that does the next one. it would be unfair on whoever won this quiz to say that they couldnt do it

we had won the quizz 3 months ago, and stalled while making the questions. I just came back and told you all to pass the quizz on to the slytherins who have the best total score and were willing to do it. only I hadn't noticed that some people had wroked on the quizz while I wasn't there.
I was just asking whether we could find a way for their work not to been thrown away ...
I was absolutely not wanting to stop you doing the quizz this time, don't worry

I think the best thing to do is to keep the quiz questions that the Hufflepuffs have prepared ready for when it's Hufflepuff's turn to next set the quiz in this new round/term/year. Then maybe give those questions priority over any others that anyone may devise between now and then. That way the work the Hufflepuffs have done won't be in vain as they'll get first chance of being the first new Hufflepuff questions in the new Quiz round/term/year.

Here we go - the very first set of questions in our second Harry Potter Quiz. All the House Points are now reset to zero for the new school year, so there's everything to play for.

Slytherin have been doing their best to compile questions which will get you pondering, and I think they've picked some really tricky ones to start.

Slytherin's Questions in the Harry Potter Quiz

What made a sound similar to an automobile signal?
What negative influence may Crabbe?s physical strength have had on his career?
What magical creature is Millicent Bulstrode contrasted with?
Which of the Fat Lady's friends winked at Bill from a portrait?
What nationality was the seller of the three-headed dog?

As with previous quizzes, please discuss the answers in your House Common Room only, and please don't post any of your answers here in this thread (as the other Houses could see your answers if they're posted here).

The deadline for answers will be 8.00PM GMT/UTC (UK London time) on 21 February 2004, which gives everyone just about a week to discuss the answers. Once you've decided on a final set of 5 answers, your House Prefects will need to post the finalized answers in your Common Room at any time before the deadline for me to collect. :-)

For each question, you'll need to give the answer, plus the location in the books where the answer can be found (this is as a safeguard against simply looking the information up on the internet). The location should be in the form of: Book name, country version (eg UK or USA version), chapter number, and page number.

For Gryffindor, Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw, each question that your House answers correctly will give your House 2 Points. But, for every question that your House answers incorrectly, or doesn't answer at all, Slytherin will be awarded 2 House Points.

Good luck and have fun figuring out the answers.
