I was just reading book one again and i noticed something funny. In book one, Hagrid says he was borrowing the bike from Sirius and that he had to take it back. Now in book three, when Fudge, Flitwick, Hagrid, and Mgonagall are in the three broomsticks, Hagrid says that Sirius gave him the bike. Now what my friends it up wit dat?

I don't get what's wrong with that. It seems okay to me.

I have been wondering myself, in the first book when Hagrid tells Harry not to mention the pig tail to anyone, since he's not alowwed to do magic, wouldn't the Mintry of Magic find out about it regardless if Harry told anyone?

Well yeah, but Dumbledore gave him special permission, right? Maybe it's just that he didn't want to be caught doing magic on Dudley... I dunno

Has anybody spotted that in the hardback version of the fourth book when Harry's parents come out of the wand his dad comes out first when they are meant to come out in reverse order and his mum was killed last and so should come out first. The mistake is carried on through out the whole chapter. In the paper back its the exact opposite so that the mother comes out first. :???:

Yeah, I noticed. it's cause they did it wrong in hardcover, so they switched it when they printed paperback.

See, if they were coming out in reverse order, than his mum would come out first, then James.

I dont think there are any other differences between the two versions.

I dont know if this is a mistake or if I'm just reading it wrong but in the fourth book it says:

' Cedric's body was lying some twenty feet away. Some way beyond him, glinting in the starlight, lay the Triwizard Cup. Harry's wand was on the ground at his feet.'

this to me sounds as if the wand is at Harry's feet but later on it says:

'Wormtail walked out of the circle to the place where Cedrics body lay, and returned with Harry's wand,'

which says the wand is at Cedrics body which would mean it was a mistake but then again I could be reading it wrong. :???:

I think that you were reading it wrong, but I can see how you thought that.

And also, my friend has a copy of PoA that Snape is spelled "Snap". You can tell it's him because he just busted Harry for throwing mud/sludge at Draco Malfoy & Co. In his office. Does anybody else have a horrible book in which his name is NOT finished?

Did they really change it for the paperback edition? Weird! I did notice that, but I didn't think they'd change it--since Harry's dad was talking to him saying 'You're mother's coming in a minute', and everything.

Interesting...I'll have to look when my little sister gets her paperback copy, since I only have the hardcover.
