Gary Oldman is fantastic! Did anybody see him on V Graham Norton when he was tlking about being Sirius? He was great - really funny as well. I think he'll be a great Sirius.

V Graham Norton is it a TV channel name, or a show?

I dont know - I just always imagined him as an opposite of Lucius. Also beautiful but kind with black hair. :grin:

or like.... if u take Aragon(sp?) actor from LOR and make his hair darker and longer.... :rolleyes:

Mint, I have always imagined Sirius as Aragorn(this is the correct sp) but of course w/ darker hair. People have disagreed w/ me before this tho!

OMG really?! THats funny, I though it would be just me.

He really fits that description too! JKR said that Sirius looked worn out but u could see that he was beautiful. ANd in general everything he did (at least in book 3) was so Noble!

Beautiful look + noble look + person who will fight for the truth no matter what look = Aragorn! (with dark hair)

ANd even his hair - I always imagined them to be Aragorn's lengh.....i dont remember if the book mentioned it somewhere....

And they are both like not very social...

I think Gary Oldman would make a perfect Sirius, he meets the looks real well, and he's a fantastic actor.

Well... in the end Gary Oldman made a pretty good Sirius. He did a really great job, though he did seem a little too over-the-top crazy in the Shrieking Shack scene. Azkaban didn't send him completely wacko remember.

I think Johnny Depp would have made a great Sirius, did you see him in Pirates of the Caribbean? Even though Johnny is American he can still easily portray and english accent. But I could only be saying that because Johnny Depp is so HOT!!!!! 8-)

Oh good, it's not just me!

I was reading this thread and I was amazed that no one mentioned Johnny Depp! Until Bextra did, and now I feel better.

He would make such a good young Sirius, And if anyone has ever seen Edward Scissorhands, the way he acts as Edward seems SO MUCH like how I imagined Sirius to act post-Azkaban. Only he would probably be a little livelier, and wouldn't look like that.

I don't know. I guess all I'm saying is, he was my vote for Sirius.

Not that I don't lurve Gaz Oldman.

IMO, James Marsters who plays Spike on Buffy would have made the best Sirius ever. He totally looks the part; thin, hollow cheeks etc. Until I found out he was actually from America, I would have bet serious money that he was Brittish. He just does the accent so well. Interestingly the character of Spike has gone through many of the "phases" that Sirius went through.
