Hermione's heritage

Postby Mistress Siana » Sunday 19 October 2003 7:16:38pm

I've always wondered whether Hermione's brilliance can be just a result of her hard work...or whether there's more to it.
Now I've heard the theory that Hermione is in fact the daughter of Voldemort which DD has placed in a muggle family to hide her true identity. Weird but interesting methinks.

Hermione daughter of Voldemort?? Who would have s*x with voldemort? Hermione seems too kind to be related to Voldie.

Hmm . . . interesting possibility . . . but I don't know . . . using the same technique twice seems a little below Rowling's writing, if you know what I mean. She always thinks of something new and exciting, so I doubt she'll reuse something she used before . . . it is interesting though. I wouldn't be surprised if Hermione had some wizard blood in her- she's so brilliant in everything in the magical world, but if anything, I'd suspect that she's related to Professor McGonagall, because a lot of times Rowling mentions the fact that Hermione can look scarily like McGonagall, and I've learned that you can't let any tiny fact go by. Interesting . . .

I like the thereoy that she could be related to profeser mcgonigal, she does seem a lot like her and she is intrested in divination right from the start, though I spose that doesnt meen much....

My little sis did of course mean transfiguration not divination :) They share a liking for transfiguration and a mistrust of divination.

O...yes..um....*stumbles around confused* Yes! What gower says is true I did mean transfiguration but its also true that they share a mistrust of divination, although that might just be (for hermione) that divination isnt something you can just learn from a book so she cant always be the best and she wasnt that good at it before she left....maybe its the shock of finding a subject where your not the best at!

That theory is interesting, but what reason would there be to hide the fact that Hermi and MG are related?

Well, maybe there's something in McGonagall's past that we don't know about yet ;)

Also, I don't remember anyone saying that Voldemort was a good student like Hermione in anything but the Dark Arts . . . Hermione's good in everything, right? Oh well . . .

Yeh if there was something in McGonagalls past that we dont know yet then if they were related it probably wouldnt come out till the end if it was something really serious or something. And if she was really entirely muggle born, how come before even getting to school she can do simple spells, without getting any help at all, when in their first transfiguration lesson no one could turn a needle into a match, yet surely people with wizard parents would have had some help from them before school started wouldnt they?

Hello!
I just saw this topic and I have some things to say:

Voldemort and Hermione related sure seems a little odd (and that make it more possible to happen). I don't know if there's anything on the books that allude to that (They would have something related to that, I suppose)

McGonagall and Hermione related are discussed (not much, though) in the next topic: Hermione and McGonagall?.

Some time ago I heard in an interview something like this:
Question: Are the teachers in Hogwarts married?
Answer: That question has a secret answer and I'll not give it

Ok, it was not that, but something like it! Now, Who married with McGonagall? Someone, no one? It does matter, or else JKR would have given the answer...

hmm :-?
i think hermione/mcgonagall and hermione/voldie are both interesting possibilities... though pretty unlikely, yes? mcgonagall seems a little old to be her mom, though. maybe shes her grandma? maybe mcgonagall's son/daughter is one of hermy's parents, and they are a squib. maybe they didn't tell hermy about her grandmother because they didn't want to expose her to that world... and then they found out she was a wiz and decided to not tell her about it? it could be possible... unlikely, yes.... ?

Intresting pinky, intresting. I spose one hermys parents could be a squib, because they go into diagon alley which of course is possible for muggles/squibs, but no other muggles are ever mentioned in there. :???: This is all a bit confusing.

Maybe she's the secret daughter of Voldie and McGonnagal! And the true reason why poor Tommy hates Muggles is because Minnie left him for one. The man was eventually killed by Voldie, and the baby girl was given to the man's brother and his wife, who from that point on prentended to be Hermione's parents.
Just kidding, of course!!

If Hermione got her letter of acceptance at least 2 months before the term commences, she would have the time to read magical books right?
Since Hermione is a "book" person, I bet she learns all her stuffs from there. She doesn't have to actually have to cast the spell but she could know the step to it.
