Do you think Ginny will be the next gryffindor prefect in book 6?
I'm sure everybody has noticed Ginny has changed quite a far bit. She is now more responsible? and capable. If she can be the next prefect, there will be 4 prefects from the Weasley household

Absoultely ! I'm quite sure Ginny will become Prefect. If I am not wrong, the Prefects are chosen by the Head of the House and the Headmaster, so McGonagall and Dumbledore, both in OoTP, so that's a reason more.

I'm pretty sure Ginny will be a prefect. After all it runs in the Weasley family and i'm sure JK will want her to be the first girl prefect in the family. Mrs. Weasley would be so happy!

I think Ginny would do the job well. She is a much better developed character than before, and i think she has the necessary qualities.

I don't think Colin would be as good. He is more of a follower in my opinion.

i think Ginny would be a great prefect, and she probably will be picked as one. but i'm sure there's alot of other people in Ginny's year that we don't know about that would be good too... i mean, there's tons of students that JK doesn't mention. but i do think that Ginny would be a great choice and a likely one because she's a WEASLEY.

Good point about Ginny's becoming prefect.
Look at all she has achieved in book 5 (part of the DA group, involved in the fight against the dark eater, excellent student, ...).
And apparently she is more than matur and clever.

I really think she will become one of the two prefects of Gryffindor house.

So the prefects for Gryffindor next year (or in book 6, what you prefer) would be:
Ron
Hermione
Ginny
....
?

Are there 4 prefects per house? Or 6? There has been much debating on this before, but I still don't know it! :Þ
Maybe it changes every year ? If there are enough competent students, they take 6, if there are not, they take say only 4?
Mm I don't really like the sound of that, though..

I'd like Neville to become a prefect as well!

I thought two of the 5th year (male and female) were selected to be the prefects... I never thought Ron and Hermione would dtill be prefects... Hmm!

yup i believe they select 2 prefects every year once the student reaches Year 5. But I'm not sure if the Year 6 and 7 students can still be a prefect candidate. If that is possible, Neville can be the other prefect.

JK only mentions Colin and Ginny as the Year 5 in Book 6. (I can't remember but since Harry and Ron missed the sorting in Year 2, we don't actually know the rest)
