What the muggles would do would probably depend on what they found out. Did they see someone doing magic? Did they see a magical creature? What did they find out?

Hm, very good subject. Well, I think that if Muggles knew about the world of Magic, that the muggles would try to destroy the world. Either that or they would try to be just like them. Either way, they wouldn't realy get along very well.

Some muggles already know about it. mostly parents with wizard kids, but some important muggles also, such as the prime minister, they said so in PoA when talking about Sirius

I put my thinking cap on for this one!
A lot of you just write a thing or two and blah!
But I have stuff to say!!
If a muggle would've seen a magical creature they would immediately see to capturing it and making loads of money off of it.
"Muggles" which in real life we are[so that should help] already have some confusion on if some things really exist!
That would change the way a lot of people think!
If muggles would've seen someone doing magic then they would also capture that person and treat him/her as a freak and use them towards one's own good! Of course if it was a powerful wizard then he would battle the people off!
If not, the wizards alays find out anyways so that wizard would be rescued!
I REALLY THINK THAT THIS IDEA ONLY WORKS FOR CREATURES!
IF ANYTHING REALLY HAPPENED, WIZARDS WOULD FIX IT AND EVERYTHING GOES BACK TO NORMAL!

Actually, obliviators exist even for seeing creatures. They erase muggle memories. Read book 4

yeah, they probably would feel threatened...start burning the witches/wizards..
the problem is, they might figure out somehow that witch burning just did not work...and try something else...that would work...and that would kill...thought i cannot think of anything that they might do at the moment[/i]

Unless the Ministry of Magic put a memory charm on them or they bribed them with three wishes.
