The reason Harry used it was because Cedric said that only the prefects could get in so no one would bother him. I think just didn't want other there while he was trying to figure out the riddle. After all he didn't have any clue as to what to do. :-)

I also think Cedric might have told Harry the password to get alittle more on Harry's good side...you know, show that he really did appreciate that Harry told him about the dragons.

exactly, i don't hink people would want to read a book like "Harry Potter and his trips to the bathroom" it just wouldn't be the same. :lol:

Yes I know a bathroom in the sense of the Prefect Bathroom is very different from using the toilet, but its funnier that way...

well, in any case, getting back on topic (i know it was my fault that we got off in the first place) i wonder if the prefect bathroom will be in any of the next books? (i dunno, i just needed to get back on topic, you understand.)

he he he...the painting...was there another painting in there? Perhaps that is the key...bathrooms have been really important in the HP books (especially in CoS and PS) so I am sure there is more to the Prefect's Bathroom then what meets the eye...

ok, so even if there is another painting in there, so what? i mean, what implications could it really have on the story. i dunno, maybe i'm overlooking something, but i don't see how a painting in the bathroom could be that important.

i am not sure the painting is significant...but hey, I am just throwing ideas out there to discuss. How knows how and why the prefects bathroom will be important, the only thing is, is that i know it will come back!

Who knows, maybe the final battle between Harry and LV will be fought in the prefects' bathroom! And Harry will defeat Voldemort because he'll open all the soap thingies and Voldemort will get soap in his eye and won't see what Harry's doing!

By the way, d'you think there's only one prefects' bathroom? Because in another topic, don't know which one, somebody calculated how many prefects there are at Hogwarts, and I believe it was at least 30 and probably more than 50. So yeah one bathroom is not much I think.

I wonder if the other ones are different from the one we know..

Maybe a sauna? Would be a fine reason to become a prefect!
