Although the forum should limit the size of the avatars, up until now the limitation doesn't seem to have been working properly (I haven't tested it lately, so can't say whether recent adjustments have fixed this yet). As a result, just think of the 80x80 as a rough guideline - slightly larger is OK.

err....luaP, when i tried to upload a larger custom avatar a few weeks ago it wouldn't let me, said it was too large so the restrictions do seem to be working perfectly.....

just thought id point that out, if you are gonna make an avatar may be wise to make it 80x80 to be safe....and as for shadow's avatar, its bigger because it was uploaded while the restrictions didn't work, i used to have larger avatars but i cant make em upload anymore....

Thanks for the info, Sonkem - wow, something else that's finally working correctly on the forum at last.

I've just noticed that my own avatar is larger than the 80x80 maximum (it's 88x88), so I've extended to maximum size to 90x90 to be fair to everyone.

paul, just a little fyi...
when you click on your own profile to edit it, and you click on show gallery for the avatars it shows a whole list of different avatars that you can select. this i'm sure you already know. however, all the 3-d avatars at the bottom of the beings section are larger than 90x90 except for the one i am currently using. i don't know if you can delete those from the gallery or if you even want to at all, just thought i'd clue you in in case you didn't know.
