WOW, it's good to see that I'm more around the ages of people here than I initially thought!!! I just figured taht there would be alot more under 18's, being 'childrens' books and all!!! I am 22, and I will admit, a total HP addict!!! But I'm loving it!

It's also nice to know that there are people older than me too!!! hehehe! ;)

How old are you when you're in the 4th grade? Because the school system aren't the same in different countries. In Holland, 4th grade primary school means you're about 6 or 7 years old. When you're in secundary school (high school) 4th grade you're about 16 years old. Just curious : ) !

4th graders in the United States are usually about 9 or 10 im 14 too wow after reading all of these i do feel young i wonder if i will feel older after my birthday (it is coming up...) it is cool to know that Harry Potter is not just a kids book it means i can read them forever which will probably when book 7 comes out...

21! but 22 in august. i'm excited about being 22 because every time i say i'm 21 people are all like "oh, yeah, i know what you do"

but i started reading the books, um, a year before the fourth one came out. i remember cuz i was extremely upset when i found out that the fourth hadn't been released yet.

Hope you don't mind me asking, but what do they mean when they say 'oh, yeah, i know what you do'? Being 21 isn't that special is it?

21 is the drinking age in the US. and some people assume that all 21 year olds drink a lot.

Ah I right. I tend to forget that, because over here the legal drinking age is 16! Though for stronger drinks (like whiskey) you have to be 18.

It's quite amazing how some of my friends react when I tell them I like HP books, they all seem to think I'm way too old for it.

And yes, putting people in categories is wrong. That's one of the reasons I like HP, because it shows how that effects people, e.g. Lupin being a great guy, even though he's a werewolf, and still being mistreated because of it.

JKR does show a lot of effects of 'Muggle world' problems - such as Rascism, Ageism and so on. I like the books for that as well - there's a lot of truth in them

I'm 16 too, and not so much now, but did anyone else feel prejudiced against when you were younger? I did.
