Well, the deadline was 4.00PM GMT (just over 6 hours ago) soooo...here we go with the results (I'm working them out as I write this so it'll be a surprise for me too!).
Before we get to the scores, the answers to the questons are...
1. In what year was dragon breeding outlawed?
1709
2. How many points did Viktor rum receive at the end of the second task?
40
3. What was Warlock D.J. Prod of Didsbury's problem?
His wife would sneer at his feeble charms
4. Who took the chunk out of Moody's nose?
Evan Rosier
Okies, in alphabetical order, Gryffindor scored one correct answer (number 2), one incorrect answer (having answered number 4 as Karkaroff) and 2 non-answers, giving
Gryffindor 2 points for their correct answer, but giving
Slytherin 6 points for the one incorrect answer and 2 non-answers.
Hufflepuff got a perfect score of all answers correct, so
Hufflepuff score 8 points and give zero points to Slytherin.
Ravenclaw also scored a perfect set of correct answers, givng
Ravenclaw 8 points whilst giving no points away to Slytherin.
Which means that this quiz's total scores are:
Hufflepuff 8 points
Ravenclaw 8 points
Slytherin 6 points
Gryffindor 2 points
But...where does this leave the overall leader board? Well, adding these points to the running total, the overall points are now:
Slytherin 65
Hufflepuff 48
Gryffindor 41
Ravenclaw 18
Which means that Slytherin are still out there in the lead, with Hufflepuff having slightly narrowed the gap, and Ravenclaw galliantly doing their best to catch up from behind. It's getting close to the end of the school year, but there's still a chance for everyone to get a whole lot more points and, as discussed elsewehere on the forum, there are likely to be hidden bonus points available from the next quiz onwards.
Seeing as it was a draw for top points this time between Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw, I'll let Slytherin (the House who set the questions) vote in their Common Room on whether Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw should set the next quiz.
Congratulations everyone - all Houses scored at least some points again this time, so well-done to all.
