I like the idea LadySnape had about JK Rowling writing something about Harry's parents and their adventures, because from the hints we get throughout the books, it sounds like they had a pretty exciting time at school themselves, and I don't know about you, but I'd sure like to know exactly what that prank was that nearly killed Snape.
We were told what the prank was in one of the books, weren't we? I can't remember which book it was, though. I think PoA. It had something to do with Lupin and when he turns into a werewolf.... I think.
Excuse me, I have to go and read PoA & GoF now! LOL
I'd definitely love the idea of a Marauders series, James and Lily falling in love, Snape's time as a Death Eater etc...maybe JKR gets kinda addicted to the HP-Universe (I've heard this happens from time to time ) and simply won't be able to do without writing about it...at least I hope so

in some interview, i almost positively remember JKR saying that after book 7 she was gonna "put down her pen and not write another word about hogwarts or harry". i seriously remember that from somewhere... has anyone else heard her say anything like that? I think she should keep writing HP/Wizarding World stuff. I might just die, otherwise!
This has been a long time hope of mine that J.K. will write more about The Goblin Rebellions. Even if it's just a light book like Quidditch Through The Ages or Fantastic beasts I'd still be interested in knowing. Goblins sound pretty powerfull and it would be awesome to read about an all out war between wizards, witches, and Goblins. Not to mention all the other things that could possibly get involved. (Crosses his fingers)
If I can sit through Hermione's House Elf Liberation Campaign I doubt there are any amount's of HP politics I couldn't sit through. Heres hoping anyway.
That would probably make a really good book if she would write it. I can remember hearing or reading somewhere that JKR has said that after the seven books have been written she'll not write again about Hogwarts and Harry but I guess the Goblin Rebellion would technically be about neither Hogwarts or Harry, so it could be a possibility.
Well all I can do is hope. Or maybe I'll just make my own story about the goblin rebellion and put it in under fan fiction on the site...although I would hate to ruin it by telling a lame version of it.
Go for if Broken machine and don't let fear stop you. If JKR started by writing a story about a rabbit, I'm sure you could do a good piece of fiction on The Goblin Rebellion which has scope for a lot more complexity than a furry hoppy bunny - nothing against furry hoppy bunnies of course, and I've never read JKR's rabbit book, and I must say Watership Down (by another author) was a wonderful story, but anyway I'm going way off the point now so I'll stop here .
I think it would be a real waste for JK to stop writing all together, she has obvious talent, and i would really like to hear about the adventrures of harry's parents, sirius etc
