Ghosts

Which one is your favorite so far. Are they getting even better as the characters develop over time?

I think that you might be right about him being killed by a Muggle there tiggirl, but with the burining at the stake, they had a way out of it... *flame freezing charm, I think* ... so why didn't NHN find a way out of it?? That's the bit that confuses me... Why, if he's a wizard, did he let himself go thru that much pain and agony??? :(

PS, NHN has been dead 500 yrs... *remember the deathday party!*

yeah...Ghosts are strange.....:P

I don't think that it was the Grey Lady on the cut scene from CoS...cuz like Holly said, why would it be in the Gryffindor common room....?

Do you think all the ghosts have access to the common rooms?!

If that was in ref to me Minzhi, what I mean was if wizards/witches had a magical way to escape being burnt at hte stake, how come NHN couldn't/didnt' use magic to stop himself beign beheaded!!!

Sometimes what I write only makes sense in my head!

I suppose that if ghosts want they could eneer the common rooms, they just avoid them. And Hooly you were clear (it's the same point I stated), even if he didnt have a wand, wizards in trouble do magoc without conscious (I do not rememeber how it is called), so I don't think he was killed by a muggle.

I agree that NHN could probably have done something to prevent his death but in doing so he would have exposed the magical community to the Muggle world. I mean, it would be odd if he had suddenly just disappeared from a crowd full of Muggles. And if he had been put to death by a group of wizards, then I'm sure that they would have taken the necessary precaution to make sure NHN didn't magic his way out of death.
Oh, and the Hufflepuff ghost is called the Fat Friar.

Thank you, Blaise; I couldn't remember the name.

But I mean, if wizards made the fire cold, muggles will be puzzled too, no?

Never thought of that Neo... with the cold fire that is... why didn't the Muggles feel that the heat wasn't there anymore, as bonfires put out a tonne of heat???

Hrmm, it seems that the same point with NHN that is making everyone else think that wizards killed him is making me think that he was a Muggle... :(

If he was a wizard and he did that maigc witout a wand to stop his beheading *as I almost think that he would have had to have done, going thru all that pain, etc, etc* then someone fromt he The Accidental Magical reversal Department, who also came out after Harry blew up Aunt Marge would simply come and modify their memories and stuff, no? :???:

So I really think that he was a Muggle!

But I do admit that I am probably wrong! But still, I cant' give up on it!!!

I think it was a wizard because a wizard can stop him from escaping with magic, and a muggle can't.

1) how can a wizard stop him from using magic to escape?

2) if this wizard is smart enough to stop him escaping, why didnt' he remember to sharpen his axe?

Maybe he wanted NHN to suffer?

And he could have petrified him, no?

Hrmm,I just started to re-read the HP series to date again, only to find confirmation... the Fat Friar was a wizard before he was a ghost... :( He said that Huffelpuff was the house that he was in when he was at Hogwarts...

But still, I'm not giving up on my NHN was a muggle proir unlessJK tells me otherwise!!!
