Thought it would be fun to compile all the books you guys enjoyed this year
I'll start...

Tithe: A Modern Fairytale, by Holly Black

Holly Black is the same author who co-wrote the Spiderwick Chronicles. It's a Young Adult fantasy novel, but the way she writes is manificent. The prologue is hard to understand, but when the first chapter begins your completely into it.

The Painted Man by Peter V Brett and also The Night Angel Trilology by Brent Weeks but I think both would be classed as books for Adults. I only bought them cos they were on special offer and my favourite author Terry Brooks had given both a good review on the back of the cover. They were very gripping excited books, couldn't put Painted Man down at all, it was the best.

Painted Man is about a world where immortal demons crawl out of the ground as soon as the sun dissapears. Mostly noone can kill or even survive an encounter with one so the humans are restricted to living behind magically warded walls with the occasional brave messenger man and his trusty jeungler travelling between cities with a portable ward circle and all the mail.

The Night Angel trilology is about wetboys (think assassin of DOOM), the picture on the front makes him look like a ninja but hes got awesome magic.

I read Wicked- Gregory McGuire earlier this year.
I loved the musical and the book just called me. It's not a new book. But it was good.

I read the Uglies series by Scott Westerfeld this year, and some of his other novels (PEEPS and The Last Days) all of which were absolutely fantastic. I finished up the Dune saga by Frank Herbert and the Dies the Fire series by S.M. Stirling, both of which were really great. And of course, who could forget Catching Fire?

The Hunger Games (I read it in 2009, I know it came out earlier), Catching Fire, or Handling With Care by Jodi Picoult. It's a tough one, I can't pick.

Mine would be Ranger's Apprentice. I read the first three in a day each, but am too busy to read number four right now. Later, though.

Salemboy, I loved the Ranger's Apprentice books, I'm up to the third one but I heard some horrible stuff about it. Is it worth buying?

Another book which I enjoyed is 1st To Die - James Patterson. It's more of an 'adult' thriller, which is way out of my genre. I wanted to try something totally different, so I did and I read the 469 page novel in 6 hours. I feel slightly crazy but there are no other lingering effects.

Ooo, I just finished the 6th Ranger's Apprentice, The Siege at Macindaw! I wish I lived in Australia so I could get the next one right away. It was fantastic!

So the third one is definitely worth reading then, Fawkes?
I feel so ignorant ... you wishing you lived in Australia so you could get the book when I actually do xD

Has anyone hear ever heard of Kaleb Nation? (He is also known as The Twilight Guy )
If so, I ordered his book online... It's called Bran Hambric and you can read the first few chapters of it online. It sounds so good!
