The new Star Trek does create it's own timeline, it's not just a prequel- there are at least two sequel movies to it planned with this new timeline. It gives them free rein to use old ideas or come up with completely new ways. After all, Vulcan wasn't destroyed originally was it? And rather than James Kirk being the first Captain of the Enterprise, in the new timeline it's Pike. And it's only assumed Spock died, not confirmed from what I know.

Oh.

But Spock DID die. I saw the movie. He was lifeless, and was shipped in a casket into space while Amazing Grace was played in the background. I was sad...

Doesn't Spock die multiple times throughout the series?

Spock came back after that, didn't he?

So you don't mind the mess they made of the plot like the Weasley House then?

First off, I concede. I was wrong about Star Trek (stupid extra sequels).

Second, yes, they did really scr*w up the plot. I mean, seriously, the weasley house getting blown to bits... kind of stupid. But, considering how bad the 4th movie was, I'll live with it.

I just saw Up 3D, its great!

I am currently torn between wishing my dog Paddy had a collar so he could talk and being scared to find out just how many swear words he knows for "I don't want a cuddle!"

I am really not sure I'd want my dog to speak, Scellanis, some of the stuff it would come out with

Anyway, the last movie I saw was 'Paranormal Activity'. Before you all freak, the movie was changed to M for Australians xD . In America, I think they have a rating of R. Well, I saw it last Sunday with a friend and it was just. not. SCARY. We were waiting for the jumpy bits but nothing really happened.
The basic plotline:
A couple is haunted and they record it.

I found 'The Strangers' alot more scary, personally.

Paranormal Activity is gooood.
Avatar was better, not just because it was made by New Zealander's of course. ;)

The maker would be James Cameron, which is precisely why I want to see it, but it hasn't come out yet where I live.

I saw Avatar in 3D the other day, and it's absolutely fantastic! The effects are awesome, and the storyline's good too, if a bit predictable at times.

Avatar 3D...oh, how pretty is that movie? And you've got to adore the Na'vi. Yes, a little predictable at times, but there are only 6 original stories in the world- or something like that. Most awesome film indeed, and well worth the little bit extra for 3D.

Sherlock Holmes- did a fairly entertaining job, but there are some bits that could have been done better. Overall, a good night's entertainment.

*shakes head*... Still haven't seen Avatar. Did see Sherlock though, it was good fun. Didn't take itself too seriously.
