That sounds like an incredibly funny story, Godric!

Here's my plot in a more condensed, understandable form.

Tasha is a 16 year old girl living in Rome, NY with her mom, Bonnie. Bonnie has devoted her life to saving animals and runs a dog rescue out of her home. Tasha resents her for this and feels like her mother spends too much time and effort on the dogs and doesn't pay enough attention to her.

Bonnie often travels around the country to rescue dogs from puppy mills and other awful situations. Tasha usually stays with her grandmother duirng these. But, when a horrible hurricane ravages South Carolina and Bonnie decides to go down to help, Tasha's grandmother is on a senior singles cruise. Tasha is forced to go with her mom to South Carolina and learns a lot about her mom, animal rescue, the love a dog can give, and falling in love herself.

While in South Carolina, Tasha meets a very cute boy, Scott Shorson. She also rescues a pittie mix herself and the dog clings to her and she winds up having a connection with him. Somehow, she, Scott, and the dog are going to have to rescue Bonnie, although I'm not sure how.

2 hours until I can start!

I got my title! "Moonlight Sonata". That's on ething that all of the teanants have in common. Their love for that piece. I think that I'll have them all meet up at a Beethoven concert.
Wow. I can't believe I did all that in aboyt six hours. With Duckie's help of course.

lol. Hmmm, yeah, you should have gotten an e-mail about how the site will run a bit slowly from November 1st to November 3rd. I did today's 1700 words, only problem is that I forgot to post my word count until it was about 2 minutes late. So, I'll just wait to post my word count until maybe the fifth. Hmm, until then, how about an excerpt? Yeah, that sounds good.

(Present Time, 1965)
“Wellllll, which one of you is itttt?” Wavy shadows flickered across his vision. A ringing resounded through his ears, a long ringing that wouldn’t stop. “Tellll, me!” A loud snapping sound sounded in his ear as he heard screaming. “Soooo, none of you wants to talk, eh?” Dim light began to enter his eyes. The ringing lessened.
He tried to move, but was unable to. “Tell me, or I kill you all, every last man, woman, and child.” Coherent thoughts mixed with his incoherent ones to make reality mix with dream and dream with reality. “Who is the one?” A loud bang resounded through the air as the sound of a body fell to the gravely earth.
“Tell me or you all end up like him!” The color was almost full, and the ringing nearly gone, but his body could merely twitch. “Fine, then die.” He could see flashes shine through his half-closed eyelids as the sounds of screaming and gunfire mingled together to make a discordant, unharmonious tune.
His hands trembled as he tried to move, tried to save them, but eventually all sound ceased. “Pathetic,” he could hear. Then he gave up, and let unconsciousness take back over.

It's not that long of an excerpt, and it might be a slightly sloppy job, but I'm not fixing it until after I finish the book. Ah man, it might have been nice to see if QA wanted to do this. From what I've seen her write in the RPG's, she looks like a natural bookwriter.

Sounds good, salem! :)

I started writing at midnight last night. I spent the evening on the harry potter fan fic forum, and it was so hard when all the Brits got to start writing and I had to wait 4 more hours. But eventually midnight arrived and I wrote 2032 words before going to bed at 1 am.

I wrote 7057 words today. My goal was 7,000. Tomorrow I hope to bring that up to 10,000. I think I might actually be able to do this! :typing:

And here's an excerpt for everyone!

I whistled loudly and all the dogs came running back up the stairs. I opened the door and let them all back inside. Six dog biscuits and fifteen minutes of playing fetch later, I was finally able to relax. The dogs had all taken their usual places around the kitchen, knowing that I'd be making a snack.

I pulled open the refrigerator and gazed inside. A half gallon of milk, two bruised apples, various condiments, a few slices of cheese, and a loaf of bread. Not much. Half the time Mom remembers to buy food for the dogs, but not for her and I. This was one of those times.

I grabbed the loaf of bread, a slice of cheese, and a bottle of mustard and slammed the fridge shut behind me. Ham and cheese without the ham. Perfect, just perfect. My day was just getting better and better.

I groaned as I remembered the mess Benny made that I hadn't cleaned up yet. Ah, well, it could wait until after I ate. What I needed was ham and cheese to make up for the crappy day. But we had no ham.

My day started out just fine, but it went down hill as soon as I got to school. First, I got my essay back in English class and got a 67 on it. It was a two work critical lens, which is about as awful as it sounds. I was supposed to compare two novels through a famous quote, but apparently my teacher didn't think I did it right. She wrote me a lovely comment about how I'd have to start doing better if I had any hope of passing the Regents exam at the end of the year. Next, I spilled my soda on my lap during lunch and had to walk around with a wet spot on my jeans for the next three periods until it dried. Then, to end the lovely school day, my friend Ducky told me that she would not be able to sleep over at my house that night because she was being forced to babysit her little brothers.

The last thing I needed was to come home to another mess courtesy of the mischievous mutt. I wish Mom would just crate him like the other dogs. Then he wouldn't be able to make trouble. But he's the one dog who will not calmly stay in a crate all day. He has one and is perfectly content to stay in it while we are home, but the moment we leave the house, he freaks out. It kind of defeats the purpose of a crate, if you ask me. So, Benny remains uncrated during the day, and despite our extensive dog proofing, he finds things to get into.

When I looked at your word count, I couldn't believe it. I'm doing 1,700 words a day, but obviously, I need to step it up to keep up with you guys. I make myself feel better about having a lower wordcount by having it be double spaced in comic sans font  . How's Fawkes holding up? I'm thinking that since she's younger, it might be harder for her. Last year, I barely made it through the third day.

Hmmm, 50,000 words might not be enough for my book. I'm already 1/15th of the way done and I haven't even gotten 1/30 of what I want in it. I might end up making it my NanoWrimo trilogy. I sure hope that I can fit everything I want to into it, because I was hoping that next year, I could write a sequel to the book I already wrote. Man, I have high hopes, don't I? .

Also, I've noticed that my writing style is dramatically different from how it was two years ago, when I began my first non-NanoWrimo book. If you were to read my first book, you would definitely notice a difference in writing styles. Whether I'm getting better or worse at writing I don't know, but I hope I'm getting better.

At least I know what I'll be writing tomorrow for Young Authors' Club: Red Falcon. Also, I'm rambling a lot this post. I should really stop, but it is so easy to ramble. Ok, I'm shutting up now.

There is no doubt in my mind that Fawkes is going to stick with this through the whole month. She is one of the most dedicated writers I know. :) Even if she doesn't make it to 50,000 by the end of the month, I'm sure she will continue with her story and write it until it's done.

Her story is amazing! I love it. :) I think it's better than mine.

My current word count is 10,275. I'm hoping to have 12,000 by midnight tonight, which I think is completely possible. I still have 8 and a half hours.

Ok, you guys are making me feel really, really bad. With all of your high word counts, and I'm only just getting to 5100. I really need to start working harder at this.

Aw, salem, you're in good shape! 5100 after one weekend is great! You're over a tenth of the way there. :) There's still plenty of time for writing. :typing:

I have 15,133 now! :D And yes, I still have a life, but I'm not in classes nearly as long during the day as you guys are.

That is quite an interesting challenge, Godric.

Godric, you just made me feel all better. My life is school, writing, and video games. So, I don't have much of a life, either, but I still manage to not be able to write more than 1700 words a day. Oh well, at least it's better than last year. I haven't told you guys this, but after the second day last year, I kind of gave up.   .

It's hilarious. Also, the reason for so doing is funny, too. You see, the very first book I ever wrote was about my idea of a Super Hero. So, he had super powers, and the laws of reality didn't apply. In my last NanoWrimo book, it was about a normal guy in a war, so the laws of reality applied, and I had to abide by those laws. But in this NanoWrimo book, a prequel to my first book, the main character is the same type of being as my original. So, it's a whole lot easier, because I don't have to abide by the laws of reality. But still, the idea that I didn't make it because it had to follow at least some realism is hilarious.

Maybe next year, I'll write a fantasy novel. Trust me, I have a ton of ideas, but I always have to remember, one step at a time, one word at a time, one chapter at a time, one book at a time. So, enough of my rambling, let's get down to business (to defeat, the huns!).
