The University Thread

Since a couple of us are headed to university this semester, I thought I'd start a thread about it.

I am leaving tomorrow and moving into my dorm early Friday morning. Right now I'm just packing up my stuff. There's a lot of it. We're renting a U-haul trailer to transport it all.

I'm in a suite style dorm room, which is good. There are 2 bedrooms with 2 girls in each. Then we have a 'common room' thing and a bathroom.

I have a couple days of orientation Friday-Sunday and then classes start on Monday. I'm taking 5 of them and majoring in psychology.

I'm moving up on September 6th, mum's driving me up so everything will just be in her car. I'll be living in Halls, don't know how many people I'll be sharing a floor with- shared lounge, kitchen, laundrette, but due to circumstances beyond my control I have to have my own bathroom (and pay an extra £15/week when I couldn't really afford the cheaper option )

6th-14th September is Freshers' Week, getting to know each other events and final admin stuff. Lessons start 16th September, but my course supposedly doesn't start until 1st October.

I'll be taking Physics, Maths and Practical modules as standard- as well as an elective set of modules, which this year I hope to be Russian. At the end of the 5 years I'll have an MPhys Physics degree.

Wow, I thought Duckie was younger than that. I thought she was like, 17 or something like that. I didn't know she was college-bound.
