Beedle the Bard!

Postby GodrictheGriffon » Thursday 31 July 2008 4:07:41pm

The Tales of Beedle teh Bard will be published by Bloomsbury and released on 4th December 2008. But here's the kicker; there will only be 100,000 copies printed and they will each cost about $100 U.S. dollars.

Only 100,000 copies? I knew it would be coming out thanks to my Amazon.co.uk email, but there was nothing of a limit mentioned. There's actually going to be 2 editions- one with the stories, for about £4, and the collector's edition for about £50. I can pre-order it, but won't be able to until I get my first uni payment on September 15th- I hope I'm not too late... :-?

Have a look see: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/feature.html/ref=pe_16331_12359691_pe_04/?docId=1000137983

Yeah, there are 2 editions. The Collector's Edition is retailing for $100 USD. Only 100,000 copies being made.

The Standard Edition is retailing for $7.59 USD. A bit more reasonable. There isn't going to be a limit on those copies.

I really want that collector's edition! But it's so much money. Maybe if I win the lottery.

I'll just have to go with the standard edition. Still, Tales of Beedle the Bard is a book I have to get. I, personally want to read Babbity Rabbitty and the Cackling Stump.

I think that I'm most looking forward to the Fountain of Fair Fortune or The Warlock's Hairy Heart or whatever it's called or Dumbledore's notes on Wand Lore in The Tale of Three Brothers or all of it!

You can now preorder it on amazon, proceeds go to a charity

Now, there are 2 versions

1: Limited edition only 100000 copies I think and only sold by Amazon
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/ref= ... 0956010903
£50 released 4th December

2. Standard copy
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/0747 ... 0956010903
£3.99 released 4th December

Sorry, this is just the British version, I don't know whats happening elsewhere but...I have preordered a limited edition copy.

I guess I shall wait for the book to be released in my country.
Shipping fee will probably be more than the book itself! :o

Wonder if it will be a worldwide release? Like the OotP, HBP, DH in the past

Barnes & Noble is selling it. I got an email about it the other day. I'm hoping they'll have a release party for it.

We might get the collector's edition! :jump: If everyone in my family contributes money, we might get it. :)

Nobody in my family besides me loves HP enough to get special edition. So, unless I get a lot of babysitting jobs by the time it's December, I'm getting standard edition.

Ah well. You have to remember that it's not as fair when you compare your family to one with six members not in including Benny. Or Fred.
But at least you won't have to share it with anyone.

I actually like to share HP books, because then we can talk about it. Still, I think my mom might read it one time through, just to read it.
