Horcrux

Which one is your favorite so far. Are they getting even better as the characters develop over time?

How does that work now though? Harry's a horcrux so Voldemort would need to have Harry alive for that piece of soul.

But Voldy didn't necessarily need Harry as a Horcrux to survive. He had plenty of other ones.

I can see how Harry couldn't live with Voldy surviving. I think that means Harry cannot truly be himself while he has that piece of Voldy's soul inside of him. I'm still not sure about Voldy not being able to survive with Harry alive.

What exactly is the reason that Voldy wanted Harry dead? Isn't it because he knew that Harry had powers he could never hope to have, so therefore Voldy assumed Harry was a threat to him? I also thought it was fantastic that Voldy never knew Harry was a Horcrux, it just made the whole "trying to kill Harry all the time" thing so much more interesting

I think Voldemort wanted Harry dead when he was a baby because he thought Harry was a threat. Then when it bounced back at him it became more of a revenge thing. Harry proved he wasnt all powerful and he had to kill him to silence the doubt he had in his mind and any his deatheaters had.

Voldy wanted Harry dead because Snape told him the prophecy. It had to be either Voldy or Harry who died, and Voldy of course wanted it to be Harry.

What would have happened if Voldy knew Harry was a Horcrux? Would he have still tried to kill Harry?
well he knew that Harry was a big threat to him, and voldy didn't know that Harry was a Horcrux.

Yes and more. Snape told Voldy the prophecy so he thought he'd get rid of ALL of the baby boys born in the end of July. The prophecy could have been fullfilled by either Neville or Harry and Voldy choose to go to Harry first. Being a psychopathic serial killer who is a great maglomaniac, Voldy had to find Harry and murder him in front of his follower and parade him around for three reasons : to finish the job that he started all those years ago and redeem his reputation of being able to cast any spell/murder he wished, reinstate his power to his deatheaters and most importantly get rid of the threat stated in the prophecy. When this did not work in TWC, the vendetta that Voldy had for Harry became personal. He became obsessed with not only killing Harry but destroying the hope that his very existence built in others.

Voldemort would still attempt to kill Harry even if he knew he was a horcux because he would just make six more. He says this (not about Harry) in DH when he finds out that Harry knew of them and was destroying them one by one.

I think I remember reading in DH that Voldemort still would've killed Harry even if Lily & James hadn't been the prophecy. As teyannanecole said, Harry would still of been attacked.

Well i think he still would because Harry is a threat to him. But if he knew in book 4, then i think he would try to reverse the Horcrux in him, then duel him and as he planned but failed, kill Harry.
