Twas the night before finals
and all through the house
The creatures were stirring,
even a mouse
They were trying to finish
their homework on time
And Rose was trying
to make her poem rhyme
They were trying to
cram for finals and tests
All of those facts
were hard to digest.
They didn’t want to study,
you might have guessed
And they were beginning to get
a little bit stressed
There were congruent lines,
short and long
After all this studying
they would not get it wrong
There were many items
calculators rulers and review packets, too
There was just way
too much math to do
And that isn’t all,
there was science as well
With speed, sound
And sunlight, and cells
Frequency, forces,
and DNA
And on the moon,
how much you might weigh
In social studies,
way back then
England and the colonies
were disagreeing again
Then way after they were freed,
on July fourth
The Civil war was fought
between the South and the North
They don’t forget English,
where Rose must write a poem
Making sure
there’s a theme and a tone
There’s alliteration,
And similes and irony at the end
And with the amount of time she had
The poem she could extend
In French,
everyone in the house is good
But there’s a final there too,
so study they should
They know some of the vocab
Un souris means mouse
And they all know how to conjugate
in this studying house
In art there’s a project
with shades of a hue
Hues are colors,
like red or blue
They didn’t forget FACS,
where there’s many a quiz
They learned the backstitch quickly
but correctly that is!
And while many might have parties
after finals, how great!
Right now studying,
will be their only fate
Two weeks into summer
where there’s only lots of sun
They have to see what grades they got
on the finals they had done
They got their grades in the mail,
which they thought they nailed
And to there disappointment
they saw that they had failed
