Love and Young People
It was a nice day at the castle. Harry, Ron and Hermione had just finished their class. They were eating their dinner, which was as delicious as usual.
"Did you even understand today's Potions lesson?" Harry asked Ron.
"I bet Hermione does." Ron said.
She did.
"Today's Potions class was so unbelieveably easy."
"You've got to be joking" Harry and Ron said at the same time.
"I read about it a few weeks ago in aome book." Hermione said.
But Harry wasn't listening. He had just spotted Cho Chang at the Ravenclaw table. Cho was a very pretty girl who played Seeker on the Ravenclaw Quidditch team. She was very popular, and a lot of boys had crushes on her, but none as big as Harry's.
"Who're you looking at, Harry?" Ron interrupted his fantasy.
"Cho," Harry replied.
"Who is she?" Ron asked.
"She's a Ravenclaw" Harry answered.
"Oh, okay" said Hermione, feeling a bit hurt. She knew how he felt about Cho. Hermione had had a crush on Harry since he saved her from a mountain troll in their first year. She wouldn't be mad if Harry and Cho were a couple, but Hermione never had the guts to tell him.
They finished their dinner and went to bed.
Harry had a strange dream. First, he was at Honeydukes in Hogsmeade. It was getting closer to Valentine's Day. He had to get a gift for Cho. He bought roses. The petals were the color of a shirt that she had worn
a few days ago. He then saw Hermione walk by, smiling at him and making him melt with happiness. He got a gift for Hermione-an even bigger bouquet of roses. Then, Harry, Cho, and Hermione meet. He gives the girls their bouquets. The two girls look at each other, horrified. They each pull out their wands and say "Avada Kedavra!" They are both dead. Harry screams, "NNNNOOOOOOOOOO!"
"Harry, I'm trying to sleep!"
"Be quiet!"
It was a dream. He was extremely relieved.
The next day was a Quidditch match: Gryffindor versus Slytherin. He was going to get his Firebolt when he sees Cho walking towards him. It looked like she had done her hair- it was no longer sleek and straight, but wavy.
"Hello, Harry" said Cho.
"H-hi, Ch-cho" Harry replied.
"I wanted to wish you good luck. I would love for you to win. I would just cry if Slytherin won. And I also wanted to do this."
She grabbed him, pulled him down, and kissed him. Harry felt as though he was dreaming.
She finally let go soon.
"Good luck." she whispered.
Everybody was waiting to get seats outside. Ron and Hermione were walking past this group of huddled people. Hermione caught a few words:
"So you told him good luck?"
"Yeah." It was Cho Chang.
"What else?"
"That I would cry if Slytherin won."
"Did you do anything else?"
"I kissed him."
"On the lips?"
"Yeah!"
"Oh my gosh!!"
"So, do ya like him?"
"No way! I mean, he's so pathetic! Chasing me down the halls with candy and gifts that must have cost a thousand Galleons!"
Hermione was furious. Anger was spreading through her body, flooding her own heart.
She kept thinking about the conversation throughout the match. She was distracted when she heard a cheering sound. Gryffindor had won. She saw Cho waving to Harry and smiling her smile that charmed half the boy population in one second.
"Like she's some big movie star.'Hi, I'm Cho and I lie to get stuff.I'm so beautiful, the mirror is my favorite object' Please."Hermione mumbled.
Harry walked over to Hermione.
"Doesn't Cho look nice?" he asked.
"Um, Harry? There's something you need to know."
She whispered everything she overheard in Cho's conversation.
"What the hell?" he shouted.
"Hermione," His voice softened. "You have the most charming smile."
He leaned forward and started kissing her.
"What about Cho?" Hermione asked.
"Forget Cho. I have you" he replied.
Out of the corner of her eye, Hermione saw Cho fuming with rage.
"Isn't love precious?" Ron said to Ginny, who had just come over, and put his arm around her shoulder, watching Harry and Hermione.
And this is how good couples can turn out.
