Your Favorite Harry Potter Memories

Postby DucksRMagical » Wednesday 24 October 2007 10:16:13pm

What are everyone's favorite Harry Potter memories? What will you remember your whole lives?

For me it's-

-The first time I read Sorcerer's Stone. My best friend was reading GoF and we were sitting in her dad's new van. (we were 11, it was very exciting to read in a new car. )

-Going to Barnes & Noble to buy OOTP. We were going to wait for the paperback, but one night shortly before Christmas we decided just to buy it in hardcover. It had been 5 or 6 months since it came out and we were tired of waiting. I spent Christmas break reading it. It was awesome.

-Buying HBP. We bought it the day it came out, but not at midnight. It was in the morning, I think. We still got the poster and stickers and scar tattoos and bracelets.

-the midnight party for DH. That was absolutely awesome. Dressing up and acting like a crazed fan. We were the craziest most obsessed people there. We followed an employee dressed up as Snape around. He had the best costume.

-Reading DH. I spent the whole day reading it. Need I say more?

-And of course the Open Book Tour at Carnegie Hall. Meeting JKR. That's my best HP memory.

Hmm..

Probably just reading number one- then getting hooked, and finding number 2 in the school library a couple of months later! =]

I think the night DH was released was probably one of the most humorous nights of my life. There were 2 guys at Barnes & Noble dressed as Star Wars characters. And of course, Godric spent the evening following the guy who worked there around who was dressed as Snape. She was Stalking Snape.

Liz, you went to the book store at the mall, right? I heard there was a very heated discussion about Snape there. I wish there had been one at Barnes & Noble, most of the people there didn't even know the answers to the simplest trivia questions.

-finally being able to read OotP (i couldn't read very well when it came out)
-going to the bookstore to get HBP
-the deathly hallows release 12 o'clock party. i dressed as luna and even made a copy of the quibbler. and who could forget the starwars-clad fans and the stalking of snape?
-reading DH. i stayed up all night and read it in 10 hours.
-seeing OotP in imax 3-d
-drooling over duckie's signed book

Being introduced to HP by a group of very enthusiastic people who helped "keep the flame" alive by having quiz nights and theme gatherings for HP.

And my HP theme bday party where I transformed my house into Hogwarts, Had a tv set up as the daily prophet, all the food from the book on my kitchen bench (including butter beer), Hagrids flying motorcycle out the back, and heaps and heaps of ppl dressed for the wizard world. It was hands down the best bday ever! Oh, and when my man got home that night (he had been camping for 2 weeks) I told everyone he was Sirius, fresh out of Azkaban! (as he was fresh from Camping, which can render u just a filthy and unshaven)

ohhhhhhhhhh memmmmmmmmmmories!

REading SS for the first time over Christmas break a few weeks after my seventh birthday. How puffy the snowflakes were and I was so excited when they found Baby Norbert that I started reading aloud and Duckie cxame in teh room to tell me to shut-up, :D I can't believe that I started reading July (why does all HP stuff always happen in July?) before entering first grade back when I was six and didn't finish until around February.
Spending time with Sev at the DH Party.

Most memorable moment? Finishing HP7 and knowing that I was one of those people who stayed with Harry Potter to the end (and beyond). Also, once all of my books get out of storage (that's three years from now), I'll find some friends who are still as crazy as me and we'll do an HP Readathon from the first book to the last in a week.

Poor, poor choki. Precious HP memories, ruined. I know one thing. I will never, ever forget Harry Potter. I will have my children one day read it. Also, I will have them sign up for BaO. Paul, one day, when you get old, you need to give this website to somebody, because I'm never going inactive.
