Well, most of the time I was wrong when I was reading the books. I had it in for Snape, I still don't feel trustworthy of him. Maybe when we see what he is doing for DD I will start to trust him.

I still think that the idea is that you are supposed to think that Snape is guilty... After all Harry, Ron and Hermoine always suspect him for something or other!!!

And there would be no suspense if you knew who the bad guy was all along, and were right!

I still suspect him too. I got the impression that the people who are close to Voldermort (either as a supporter or as a spy) know a lot of things concerning the dark lord...i mean, Dobby said there was a conspiracy against Harry in book two...Lucius had Riddle's old diary...so it's not THAT unlikely that Snape knew about Harry being a Perseltongue and the Basilisk...I mean, that fits...maybe both Lucius and Snape tried their best to get Harry in contact with the Basilisk...

grr...somehow I'm not able to bring order into my thougts...does anybody get what I mean?

I thought along the lines of what you are saying but like people have said if Harry did not know he could talk to snakes why would snape know? Also I am not sure if this is right or not but Snape would have left Voldie before his loss of power meaning he would not know about Voldie accidentally giving him the powers right?

From the jist that I got, Snape didn't actually leave, he just turned spy for DD. So in that case, he would still have known what any other high-ranking Death Eater knew.

But Dobby say that there was "A plot to make most terrible tings happen at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry" and thtat he didnt' want Harry putting himself in danger... So the plot wasn't to conspire against Harry, just to make bad things happen there.

I think that Lucious meant to discredit Authur Weasley. Remember DD said that if the diary hadnt' been found, and Ginny had been blamed, that it woudl ahve had a drastc effect on Authur Weasley's Muggle Protection act...

Harry knew he could talk to snakes since he freed the one in the zoo...he only didn't know it was such a rare ability.

@Holly:
Can it be that you've become addicted to this forum? :D
Hm...somehow I just can't believe that Lucius only wanted to discredit Arthur...he has much more power and influence than Weasley, even in the ministery...and why would Dobby go to Harry, if it wasn't particulary him who was in danger? He should have warned every other student of Hogwarts as well.

Was Harry sure he could talk to snakes or did he think it was just an unbelievable thing like all the other things he did before knowing he was a wizard? :???:

Harry definately knew....

i suppose Snape may be guessing.....or perhaps he did know, i mean, how often does a boa constrictor escape a zoo.....no doubt it got into the muggle papers, especially for the way the glass disappeared and reappeared.....wizard authorities would know about it instantly certainly and also the school and dumbledore would be watching for it too (so that they can tell whether he is elligable to join the school)...i mean he knew about the car pretty fast didnt he

but then again, he may have just given Draco the spell since a snake is the symbol of slytherin and most people are pretty scared of them

He couldn't have chosen a better moment then...
But one thing I've noticed about the HP series is that hardly anything ever happens by pure accident.

That's a good point, sooner or later everything has a reason, and Snape chosing the Snape as ab attack may have a deeper meaning than the one in CS.
I jusy have question, is Snape is still working for Voldemort, why he didn't help Barty if the Lord have already rsen again, I mean he could have killed DD in that moment without any trouble, since DD trusts him.

Mistress Siana, YES, I have became a TOTAL addict!!!
Is there some drug that someone can perscribe so that I don't have to check in here everyday???

About the Snpae helping Barty thing... thats anther thing that confuses me as to wether or not Volide knew Snape turned... If he didnt' know, he should have either told Snape what was going on, or asked him to help put in some way...

But then again... maybe he didnt' want anyone acting suspicious, because it didn't meen that any of the other DE'S knew either? For eg, what would have been the point of sending a threat to Lucios through Draco if Lucious knew that Moody was Barty, a DE???

Ahhhh, it's all too much!

No, I'm sorry! There exists no cure, no drug and even if you committed suicide, you'd have to haunt this forum as a ghost...hey, if anybody's still seeking for a position to add to his profile, the ones of the houses' ghosts are still available :D

I'm sure Voldie knew about Snape having changed sides because of the way he spoke to Quirrel. But I highly doubt that Lucius knows about it, for Lucius just doesn't seem like the kind of guy that would risk a loss of power (or even a bit of crutiatus) for the sake of a friendship.
