Dobby, the Free Elf

Who do you like best and who could you definately live without? Will there be romance in the air for any of them and who will end up with who?

Who else was thinking, "NO! Not Dobby! He's the coolest little guy there is!" And Harry even dug his grave! That's very hard work! I couldn't dig a meter into the ground if I wanted to! Dobby though should alway be known for his catch phares , " You shall not harm Harry Potter!" :D

When he was digging the grave I had to keep thinking 'how can Dobby be that big?'. Its a nice place to be buried, but I think it would have been cool if he could have been buried in a place he knew and liked. Like Hogwarts or something I suppose, but when your on the run from LV i guess you don't have much choice.

I was so sad when Dobby died. He was so devoted to Harry, even though he was free and had no master. I never expected Dobby to die, or even to save Harry.

I was more overthrown by the fact that Hedwig got killed (after a horrible holiday where she was not able to get out of the cage alot)..
after that; I was prepared for anything.

I don't know why but Dobby was the only death I really felt that emotional over. And then digging the grave and "Here lies Dobby, a free elf".

Just the poor little thing... :(

That was the saddest part in the book for me! And I'm with choki, it tore at my heart!

Def the saddest part of the book by far, it was just so unexpected that he arrived then to be killed in such an muggle way.... :-(

I thought that Dobby dieing was really sad but the saddest part to me was at then of Chapter 34 where it said "He saw the mouth move and a flash of green light, and everything was gone." I just exploded but then when I realized he was alive I was happy again.

Crushed by tiny deaths

Postby DDforever » Thursday 2 August 2007 11:19:37pm

I was very upset when Harry lost Hedwiog and Dobby.

I felt like he never really thanked them enough for all he did for them. THey were just so essential. One bone I always have to pick with the movies is that they've totally neglected the importance of the house elves of late. I surprised movie five even had Kreacher in it, but still they didn't really show how essential he was to the plot.

We should start a letter writing campaign that the last two movies should be three hours long each, so they can do a better job.

I'd watch eight hours of Harry Potter if it stayed true to the books.
-sigh-

I was very upset with the death of Dobby. It broke my heart to see him go.
It also broke my heart to know that one of my friends laughed at his death. =/

They actually weren't going to have Kreacher be in the 5th movie. But JKR insisted that he be in it. When I heard that, I knew Kreacher would have some significance in the 7th book.
