Which one is your favorite so far. Are they getting even better as the characters develop over time?

What happened in those nineteen years?

Postby noris » Sunday 22 July 2007 10:59:39am

I got to the end of the book and was a little bummed that it ended like that there are soooo many unanswered questions.
we only get to find out what job Neville does?
How did George cope without Fred?
Did he really have to leave the resurection stone?
Where do Harry and Ginny live? Grimmauld Place?
What happened to Luna?
Where did they put Voldemorts body?
How come Harry's children didnt know he was famous? surely he took them out in the wizarding world?
and im a little upset that Harry did not become a teacher at Hogwarts, it didnt even mention that he fulfilled his ambition to become an auror. (there will always be dangerous wizards)

im not sayin the book was bad i thought it was amazing, but i somehow feel there should be more. or maybe its just the thought that there will be no more thats nagging at me...

Yeah that nags at me a wee bit too. I thought that wee '19 years later' bit was a bit lame to be honest. Cute, but lame. It really doesn't reveal anything about their lives in the future, just that they are married and have children.

How do you know they were married? they mite have just had kids it doesnt mention it.

well at least there is plenty of loose ends so i can hold on to the fact that one day she may change her mind and write some more. one day...

It does mentin that Harry and Ginny are married, but not Ron and Hermione but you are supposed to assume that they are indeed married.
It does really leave it more open to more books.. Its possible you could write about the 19 years inbetween, but more probably about the next generation. I would expect Albus Severus would be the main character..

I want those questions answered too. And what happened to the Dursleys?

I really wish they had said what happened to Luna, she was as much of a main character as Neville was.

And who raised Teddy?

I realized that Tonks's mom must have raised him right after I posted that.

I also wanted to know what happened to Hogwarts after the war. I'm assuming McGonagall became headmistress. But what about the other professors? And Hagrid and Grawp? The rest of the Order? The rest of the Weasleys? Did George continue Weasley's Wizard Wheezes?

What jobs did Harry, Ginny, Hermione, and Ron do?

What about Dean, Seamus, Lee Jordan, Lavender, the Parvati twins?

I'm hoping she writes another book to answer these questions.

These gaps are really annoying me! Wouldn't have been too much trouble for her to add some information about the lives of people who we've waited years to know about. I think this leaves it wide open just for a bit of an explanatory book, which i doubt she'll write though.

I think she might have been under a bit of pressure to get it written asap before people started losing interest, but to write a series of 7 books, that have gripped people this much over a space of ten years has been amazing. I hope her other books are just as much of a success and give everyone something else to get addicted to.

Yeah it was annoying how she just skipped over so much right at the end there at went straight to 19 years ahead without actually explaining anything.
I love how Fleur called her little girl "Victoire".. thats hilarious. And that Harry's son James is actually a lot like his father James, mischevious
I guess the only thing we can do now is keep pestering her to write about this gap. Or I think writing about their kids would do because then she can kindof fill in the gaps that way too.

Harry, of corse! He's Ted's godfather!
*reads other posts after that* You guys didn't figer that out either!?? How fast did you read the thing! :D

I was really satsified with the end, actually. I was scared that it really was just going to end, and no secrets to uncover. Although, I was kind of upset that there was nothing about Luna, or whether she ever got to see her father again. With these gaps, I may even consider looking for same Fan-ficion on it!

But when they were at the train station, James said it would be cool if Teddy came to live with them! So, he must not have been raised by Harry because if he did, James would have never said how cool that was.

I already have an idea for a fan fic. I'm just thinking it through before I write it.
