I didn't even know about this until yesterday but this is great - 2 billion people across the world watching the live Earth concerts and hopefully contributing in some small way to help save the planet and its creatures.
Kasabian were amazing earlier here in England and it was good to see genesis with "Land of Confusion". I'm looking forward to Duran Duran a bit later and maybe the Red Hot Chilli Peppers.
It seems KT TUnstall is playing in the USA - really need to find out if she'll be shown here in England or on the web somewhere as I think she's great. The Police are in the USA too - would be perfect if they did one of my favorite tracks ever - Synchronicity Part 2 - "Packed like lemmings into shiny metal boxes, contestants in a suicidal race".
It's not so much the increasingly chaotic weather that I think of, although that's bad. And it's not so much the rising sea levels although that's already starting to become disastrous.
What really and completely worries me is that in the years to come we could lose precious animals like the Indian Tiger forever...never to be seen alive again...ever. And the polar bear, the albatross and so many other creatures.
A while ago I did a few pages about the Dodo on another of my sites. It made me really sad after investigating this bird that no-one will ever see one alive again. They have been lost completely. I really don't want to see that happen to today's creatures, whether majestic or humble.
