He has a personallity of someone one who thinks very highly of himself and wants to keep his reputation so he'll take sertain steps to make sure that he can change sides when it may become more powerful.

Snape is a nutty nutty nutter (from sanitarium) :P
Ok, I believe he is a DE. And I guess I agree that he isn't 'pure' evil like LV. I think for just being a spy for DD his actions are rather extreme. I mean, DD was probably glad to have a spy and someone that can give inside info on LV and the DE's, but I doubt he ever would have wanted things to go so far, resulting in his murder by snape and then snape being an outcast.
In fact, DD has been trying so hard to get people to believe in Snape and not treat him as an outcast (especially harry), that if he was in on this whole thing than it would contradict what he had been working for in the first five books! He's wanted people to trust snape like he does, so if he wanted snape to kill him than nobody would trust snape!

Man, Snape's real low....He killed the one person that believed him to be good. Other people were still unconvinced but since DD trusted him they were okay with it, then he killed DD and no one wanted to believe it because they were in shock that DD could possibly be wrong.

I hope Hagrid is the one to rib Snape into a hundred tiny pieces. :devilish grin:

Yes well, snapes always put hermione down for doing things right! She's a star student and well if i was her i would be very annoyed at him.
But perhaps he's not one of the people to die in this book.

I think he killed DD because he had to - he was bound by Unbreakable Vow - he was to protect Draco. And we also know, that if Draco hadn't killed DD, Voldemort would have killl Draco, so Snape maybe hadn't a choice - I don't know if somewhere is explained what would happen if you broke Unbreakable Vow - or maybe it is impossible to break it at all.
Therefore in my opinion that fact doesn't make Snape evil. I think he's got implicated in two opposed worlds, two opposed plots - and whatever he do, will be wrong, will be a treason one of those sides.

Oh yes he did, he chose to save his sorry hide. In fact I think Snape was a little inferreated with Draco for chickening out and risking there neck. I think one of the reasons that Snape even made the vow was because he was getting tired of "Bella" disbelieveing him, he kind of said it at the heat of the momment then thought, "You stupid piece of..." . I think that even "Cissy" was surprised he said yes.

Everyone minds his own life, don't they?*
And maybe it was something, which allow Snape help Harry in the future, without Voldemort's suspicions**.

I know it's likely a bit ridicolous, but without knowing why I still like Snape and want to believe he'll appear to be the good one after all.. :o

Maybe You're right :) And maybe to make Bella and - what comes next - Voldemort believe hi's really on their side. Why? As above**

But still don't know what would have happened if he had broken it. Maybe nothing, and maybe that's why he did what he did - to save his life and... *.
