Flint swore as his bludger was deflected away, and bent down low on his broom to get ready to whack it back at the approaching Gryffindor chasers. McKay and Randall stealthily flew behind the chasers, hoping to intercept the ball out of the pass of the Gryffindors.
It was then that Ferris launched his bludger straight at the Gryffindor keeper, from the other end of the pitch.
The Gryffindors were so caught off-guard by this ploy, and had no beaters anywhere near the keeper.
The keeper saw the hard ball fly at her the second before it made contact.
Dinas frowned. Misty's bad captaining decision #1... leaving the goalie unprotected and both the beaters at the opposite end of the pitch.
Slytherin were managing themselves far better.
Mortin, for example, was leading by example. He'd just snatched the quaffle back, after Flint had whacked the returned bludger at the face of Arven.
Arven's face was covered in blood.
Mortin charged up the pitch, approaching the goal area. And the keeper was still disorientated.
