It says in the Fesitval terms that only Years 7-11 are allowed to participate, or students under 16. But it's a well known fact that most schools ignore those rules in favour of a brilliant performance- our school doesn't because the directors, dear Gwyneth and Linners, are sticklers for the rules.
But the first Antonio never came to rehearsals so one of the year 12 Drama students got asked to replace her, and then she couldn't make the second performance so the year 12 Jack-of-all-trades got asked- that's me.

In NZ it's for all High School students...but my school likes to keep something for the yr13's.

But now we have a new Drama teacher- so she decided to have 6 teams instead of 3.

We go to the Salvation Army for our costumes. We use the directors' old clothes. Our scenarey is reused at least six times. The stage is peeling. And it sinks in whenever you square-dance on it. The curtains are about forty years old. The bars holding them up are starting to sag. An eigth of the seats in the auditorium are broken. The springs in them are breaking. The stuffing is flat and coming out. They are covered in red, duct-tape that was put up sixteen moths ago and is already starting to peel. They are covered in gum and so is the floor. There are fans that go on every night at our rehersal time and are wheezy but if we turn them off the theatre gets over heated so we only do that for performances. Not even dress rehearsal. The piano covering is dreadful. The sound-system is usually great now that we've gotten the old one out abot eight months ago. :( :-( But I love it. It's a home.

Anyone heard anything about Mum's the Word? Am going to see it next week and don't know anything about it. It's got a few famous people in it including Michelle Gayle (Hattie from EastEnders years ago) and others who I can't think of off-hand.

Will let you know what it's like!

I love the Outsiders. They should make that into a play.
