How come when I post an image with the img codes, the image doesn't show? I have some smileys that I'd like to use, but they won't show up. Same with images.

Here's an example of an image.

The [img] code was removed to prevent unauthorised hotlinking <---- more information at this thread. :)

The two piccies that you've mentioned in your thread wouldn't be unauthorised hotlinks as smileys.on-my-web.com seems to allow hotlinks, and as far as I'm aware, photobucket does too. There were quite a few times when members had used unauthorised hotlinks before however (a forum search on the words hotlinking or hotlink will find some more details), so the only thing to do was to sadly remove the facility.

* Thinks * In the future there may be a way that I could program things to only alow links from certain domains....it would have to wait until after the Olympus upgrade but it's certainly a possibility for the longer term.

Okay, I had a feeling that's what it was about. It just threw me because on all the other forums I'm on the img code works. It was weird to see the code in the post.

Yeah, photobucket allows that. But that's a picture from my own photobucket account, so it wouldn't matter anyway!
