Remember that in order to use the house, Dumbledore had to get Sirius' permission? I htink that's true. I think he had to get permission - I tihnk there's deep magical there. Otherwise wouldn't any dark magician just cast thousands of fidelius charms over dwellings, and make it impossible for wizards to find their homes?

No, Dumbledore needed Sirius' permission, as owner of the house.

And now Harry is the heir - he is better than the Secret Keeper. Just like Harry was in on the Secret of his own house in Godric's Hollow, without actually casting the spell - because he dwelt their, and in a way 'owned' it. Possesive magic, I think.

I don't remember him getting permission from Sirius explicitly though I do remember Sirius saying yeah I let them use this place as there's little else he could do etc. DD had to get Harry's permission as well in HBP at the very beginning

of course, he might have just been polite in asking for permission.....

agree though his tail feathers are not in the cores of the wands of LV and HP for nothing. Fawkes must have some other part to play in the final instalment

good point. can't think what it could be other than the phoenix being a central theme around the good side

Hmm I don't know. I just googled Phoenix to see if there were any other mythical things we don't already know about on the phoenix. Not much luck apart from it having a connection to the Sun.

The funny thing I did discover though was that apparently the phoenix has two feathers on it's head. I always thought that fawkes gave his tail feathers but perhaps not?? I wonder if there is something more to that??? Oh I don't know I just reaching a bit on this.

Well Dumbledore's Secret Keeper so you can only get in If he tells you where it is personally even if you're with somebody whom he told. It's also possible that Sirius's Mum scared him and the Death Eater's of :grin:

That seems clear to me, I agree though yes the bloodline could have been passed down through James's family though I'm not sure that I agree that Harry is a descendant, Personally I don't think the descendant of Gryff will come into play in the final book, it would be a little far fetched I think.

No. The secret died with DD, or so Jo says. The Fidelius Charm is a tricky thing, I wonder if JKR thought it through to the end. I remember DD saying at some point that it is so strong a charm that even if Voldemort had walked through Godric's Hollow, looked through each window and seen James and Lily having dinner inside, he still wouldn't have been able to deduce it was their hiding place.

However, the sentence "Harry, only Peter Pettigrew can say that your parents lived in Godric's Hollow" is contradictory itself. So, there are some definite plot holes concerning the Fidelius Charm.

I'm reading book 5th once again now and there's something.. it's just a really, really little thing, but why Lupin introduced Mad-Eye Moody to Harry as if they hadn't known each other?

I don't remember how did it look in the book 4th but in the film Harry was present when they found real Moody in a trunk, so I don't belive they haven't been introduced to each other then.
