Thestrals in POA

Which one is your favorite so far. Are they getting even better as the characters develop over time?

Actually, Harry didn't witness his parents death all he saw was a flash of green light. He didnt witness Pro. Quirrels death either because he passed out b4 it happend. He can only see thsetrals now because he saw Cedric Diggory's death in th GOF.

True. He may not have actully seen Lily die. He saw a flash of green light, so it's like when you look at the sun, you're blinded a few seconds afterward, aren't you? He could have been blinded by the light (plus, who knows how dark the house was at the time?) next thing you know LV is standing over you trying to kill him. Or the flash of green light he saw could have been for him.

Yes, but still, after he saw Digory dying he didn't see thestrals. It's all in the GoF!

Do they ride thestrals back to the train station at the end of the year? Does it ever say that?

Yes they ride thestrals. Hermione was smiling while watching "no horse coaches" coming to take them to the station. Something like that.

Do we agree now that she wasn't planning them but we forgive her because she is a human being and everybodu makes mistakes?

Yeah... Now I think we can conclude that she made a mistake, and she relieazed it to, there is more cases like this that we haven't taken note of them, don't you think?

You can't see any horcruxes in the books? Try the major theme behind CoS, the diary!

No, no...
J.K. said that careful readers have probably seen what remain horcruxes are. She mentioned them in the books.

Oh by the way, about the thestral thing:

Excerpt from JKRowling's website:

"Why couldn't he see the Thestrals on his trip back to the train station? (in GoF) Well, I didn't want to start a new mystery, which would not be resolved for a long time, at the very end of the fourth book. I decided, therefore, that until Harry is over the first shock, and really feels what death means (ie, when he fully appreciates that Cedric is gone forever and that he can never come back, which takes time, whatever age you are) he would not be able to see the Thestrals. After two months away from school during which he has dwelled endlessly on his memories of the murder and had nightmares about it, the Thestrals have taken shape and form and he can see them quite clearly."
