Lupin a Legilimens?

It occured to me when re-reading the series that Lupin regularly seems to know what Harry is thinking. Is he a Legilimens or is Harry just extremely predictable?

Probably a little bit of both.

If Lupin is running around with the warewolves, then you;d think he'd know a little about Oculemency (sp?) and therfor Legilimens too.

Unless Harry is a lot like his father, and Lupin just knew what James would do in Harry's situations. Like growing up with James all over again!

But legilimens or no, Lupin is extremely perceptive, I guess it derives from his rather unique childhood.

but i think he is rellay sensetive...becaus he always comforts molly and he comforted tonks after sirius death..

He's very sensitive and perceptive, far more intelligent than he's given credit for. I think being a wolf has shown him some extreme shades of people's personalities, it has allowed him to develop a natural insight into people's feelings and mindset.

I agree with Rory and Chimera. Abot that legilimens thing I'm not so sure, mght be, but I don't think it is something Lupin would get interested in. But there is the other side, maybe he must know it. After all, he is running with warewolves.

The werewolves under Greyback seem to be largely an uneducated bunch, I think neither legilimency nor occlumency is of particular importance in their presence.

I think lupin is a really great wizard, so I would think that he would know it. Plus if you had friends like Sirius, james, and The rat and then you been in the same grade as Snape... I think you get the point.

i think occlumency is something most wizards, or at least most of the more talented wizards, espcially those who go to figtht the dark side, know and practice occlumency to some level - its a basic need of defense; legilimency on the other hand is the more offensive one, and that i think only few practiceit. i do believe though that many of the prime charachters have some powers and knowledge that we dont know of - they probably have more than just what u learn in school - its possible that lupin practiced legilimency but unlikley because as chimera said - he is very perceptive and doesnt really need it i think

i disagree - if so he could have come up with that with out legilimency - being perseptive as he is - i think the point in that whole story of betrail is that ppl usually think of betrail as an act of someone smart sophisticated bold - like a spy - thats why we have little problem believing snape is a betrayer, but wormtail - someone pathetic as him - a betrayer - no way!!
and thats why they never suspected him so even if lupin were legilimens he wouldnt think of using it on wormtail
and i think thats what it goes to show - that it is likely that the coward ppl will betray cuz its a cowardly act
