Hogwarts '06/7

A home for old scenarios who may have come to an end for RPG playing but whose life and excitement can still be enjoyed in story form.

Good, Dinas thought when he saw the team list. Four Seventh Years... they may have a shot this year if they can blend together well.

Arven had just climbed the first stairway leading to her next lesson, Charms, when she saw Misty descending from the stairs. As they walked past each other, Arven could tell that the listless captain was still stressed over the quidditch matters.

Misty had came over to her room the previous night, requesting that Arven take over the captain position. Arven knew that Misty had been under a lot of pressure from her captain duty and being the Head Girl in NEWT level made it a lot worse. Yet, Arven could see that Misty has great interest in quidditch and her experience as the Head Girl greatly showed that she was able to lead others. Giving the excuse she was tired, Arven avoided the issue and Misty had no choice but to leave.

Just as Misty was about to turn into a corner, Arven called out loud for her captain.

"I thought of what you said last night. And if you won't mind, I'll be glad to help you out, not as a captain... but a vice-captain will do."

"Oh, ok..." Misty looked down at the ground. "But tell me if you want the Captains job..like, if you, erm, change your mind..." she looked expectantly at Arven.

"Look...if it makes you feel better, I'll think about it..." Misty's face lightened. "But that doesn't mean I will take the job..."

"Oh...k, well I better be off, see you around...remember practise on Wednesday at 6pm.." Misty wandered to DADA.

Dinas frowned. Just when she was getting started on becoming a decent Captain, she decides to give up because it's too hard. It's one of the easiest responsibilities in Hogwarts there is... she's been making far too big a deal of it and not enjoying it.

Does she have the commitment?

If they swap captains... Gryffindor will lose. They have to sort it out.

"Alliento-Magora!" Dinas cast the specific charm for conjuring a large golden shield, that rather impressively shot golden and scarlet sparks out of its sides. It looked quite spectacular.

His 1st years were quite impressed - though any other year may not have been. The charm was actually quite simple. Although there was a conjuring charm, certain objects have a more specific and effect spell to cast for them. This one could be properly cast by any reasonably-abled young wizard. From 2nd year upward probably.

Nevertheless, it never failed to impress much more than a simple flame charm.

Maybe my heart is in the position, maybe the thought of actually having to try at something for once is scaring me...well...I'm going to do it!!! No matter how hard or tiresome it is...

There was a thud...she'd walked into the door to DADA classroom...Oops

She smiled, and looked around. Good No-one noticed...

She walked into class..

It was during the middle of reading Page 568 of Last Charm: Final Spells to Resort to in Desperate Situations to his 3rd Years, that he was bored of this.

He realised with a thud that he had read this page to third year classes over fifty times, and in total around eighty times had he opened the book to this page. He recognised the drawing of an attacking troll with a left leg missing.

He was bored of this...

Terrin Dinas was going to see the Headmaster.

At least in the old days there had been some adventure in this school - now it's all Magic-Safety courses for teachers and oh.. how utterly ridiculous.

The Charms lesson went smoothly, everyone was focused as the OWLs were coming at the end of this year. Up till now, Arven had not decided what subjects she want to take up from her 6th year onwards. Prof McGonagall - the Gryffindor house head had advised her to start planning soon.

Arven had thought of being an Auror like her father but that would require an exceptional high grades and a lot of hard training. The next choice, of course, would be a professional quidditch player but that would also require excellent playing skill and it was never easy to be among the top quidditch players in the wizarding world, especially for a male dominated sport arena.

Maybe I'll see Arven...

Dinas gave the password, climbed, and then waited outside the Headmaster's door. He knocked three times.

"Enter," Professor Weasley said cheerfully.
