Arven ran towards her captain and patted on her shoulder.
"Hey, I thought we are gonna have our practice today?" Arven asked, pointing to the rest of the Gryffindor quidditch still standing on the pitch.

Misty stopped, That's right

"Yeah, I know...I'm just...erm..Grabbing my plays book..." she smiled awkwardly.

Dinas settled down to watch the Gryffindor training, and answer some questions form last-minute stragglers.

The entire Gryffindor team assembled around Misty 5minutes later..

She started a pep talk...and introductions were made... Guiltily, she couldn't remember some face

"Sir, how many people did you say you would be selecting for the provisional teams?" a student asked.
"14, Davids."

[Scarlet Lioness]

"Now...here's the hard part...I'm going to have to play...and look you over at the same time...How many of the back-up's do I have?"

10 raised their hands...two were missing, a chaser and the beater, great I have to play now

"Can you please sort yourselves out over there...and sort yourself into a team..the 3 left over will be changing, as subs..." and the first string players...are all of you here?" Nods all round..."Get your equipment and mount your brooms,we are going to play a little game...I just want to see how good you are...Oh wait a second!!! Roll Call..."[/i]

What is that girl doing? Dinas thought. She's trying to manage that team.. as though she was a coach and not one of them. She's treating her fellow players as though they're babies or a Mini-Broom team. Look at them! The older ones are just standing around doing nothing getting steadily more angry at her for betlittling them and not giving any instructions - just because they aren't captain!

And she isn't even that good! Dinas added as, literally, an afterthought.

Beaters, he thought. They're all the same.

Roll call... he shook his head in despair.

"Wait...ok, I know I'm not good at this stuff guys...I only got this Captain's job because I was practically the only one left...and Terry didn't want it...I'm trying my best I really am...Can you guys give me a chance, I promise I wont treat you like this again...Can you give me some tips on what I should be doing?? I know I'm Head Girl, and a prefect...but that doesn't mean I'm any good at being Captain of a Quidditch Team...But if you give me a chance...I'll improve..."

She looked around at their faces, and smiled...Argh, I'm not cut out for this...

"I think we should give her a chance!!" Someone yelled out...

Terrin rolled his eyes. He knew heart-wraming speeches only went so far. She would have to perform or there would be mutiny in that team's path.

[Scarlet Lioness]

"Ok, guys...lets just go play Quidditch, that's what we're here for, and that's why we want to be in the team...Have fun, and then...we can get into a real practise...with everyone's input, at the next practise...Wednesday at 6pm....we'll be different, and instead of having just one person telling you what to do...everone can help..."

Misty looked around...

"Arven..You have experience in this area of expertiese...what do you think??? Give working together a go???"

Dinas had had enough. As he left the stadium and whispered in Misty's ear a piece of advice, it was this:

"You can't captain a team like this. It's too big. Cut it down - have your starting seven at practise and that's all. And make sure Arven is in it - be a captain."

Misty listened.

"Ok...guy's great game..The finally team will be posted on the Notice Board by tomorrow morning...I only want the first string at practises...if a back-up is needed...you'll come to the one practice before the game, if we know by then...otherwise...keep practising..."

She left the Pitch...

"Take my advice," he asked her the next Charms class.

"Yup...Final 7 list is on the notice board right now..." she grinned..and waled to her seat ready for Charms..
