QA dont be so sure about beating portugal, they played much better than you guys till now (though they did have that scandle against holand), i certainly hope youre wrong a brazil portugal semi will be a really great beautiful and fun game, but i think that eventually youll win its just like england (of the recent years not the historical) to play bad against port, but somehow keep a clean sheet and to put one random goal in the 85-90 minute... yeah pretty much like against equador...
well sorry im not so pro england in this world cup, dont take it personally...
i think we can agree on one thing though - to wish the french team a nice cosy and immediate trip back home...

Definately. And I see what you mean about the team, but Portugal have two of their best players off on Red Cards. Then again, we're playing very badly and it's only 15 minutes in.

Oh, I've just noticed that it's a football discussion now! Yay, go France! It's a shame it will be Zidane's last match.

they did well last night. I like Zidane, I think he's almost legendary.

Me now I'm cheering for the Stallions!! Come on Italy!!! They are long overdue - it's been 24 years. The match other night was boring for the most part I have to say but it really got good to the end. Awesome finish that deserves the cup I think.

i actually think that both semi finals were really good - surprisingly good for this world cup, though i dunno about the final both france and italy played well in the semi but in the final they may be too cautious - its quite like both of them to first play defensively in such an important game...

im now for portugal (to win 3rd place) as for the final i now dont mind who wins it - i guess ill be for the team that plays prettier

funny really that a thread about new zealand turned to be about soccer...

Yeah a bit naughty really think we got talking about the All-Whites which started it off.

I don't really know much about the All-Whites, I didn't even realise there was much of a footie thing going on in NZ, it being more rugby oriented.

Are there many footie clubs out there? Do you have a league or something?

Hey that's not nice...I wanted the money now it's my Aunty and my Sister in the final...go France (my sisters team lol).

We hve lots of Junior player leagues in NZ...some quite good players mostly under 20's...

But a good way to describe the All Whites is that they suck...I don't think we came close to qualifying for the World Cup...

Zizou how could you, how on earth?

Anyway... Congratulations Italy!! And congratulations France for second place.

Ooh, I hear them celebrating outside. :)

Hm, and third place is a good place too...after all, if you have guests, you don't eat the last piece of cake yourself, right? :-) So, we're good hosts.

I loved this Word Cup, what a great great party. Wonderful!

Good ol' Zizou, doesn't let a red card in his final math stop him from getting the Golden Ball Award for the Player of the World Cup! :-)

Deservedly!

Viva la France 2010!

Hi, sorry, what did you mean about "not nice" not me surely?? It was an honest question as when we came out we didn't get a feeling for footie mainly rugby.

I'm soooo pleased Italy won. God I would have loved to have been in Rome the night they brought it back! 700,000 people turned up at Circus Maximus! Unreal!!!

On Zizou, I heard a lip reader's account of what was possibly said to him. I won't say exactly what it was but it was racist and also the Italian bloke said that he hoped he and his family would have short lives. Zizou was evidently upset about that because his mum is not very well.

I think I would have nutted him as well!
