Hi guys!

Got back this weekend. We had an absolutely awesome time. Just fantastic!! Moving out to NZ has actually crossed our minds since but it's difficult as I think we'd miss out family.

How are you both - you well?

By the way, we thought the weather was hot! It only rained 3 days while we were out there so we did quite well on that. Just had the best time.

Thanks for all your advice!

It's so difficult to say which one we liked the best.

We really liked Auckland but could have had more time there as we were so tired that we pretty much slept the first day we were there but it was a good night out - so clean and so funny to watch people driving the circuit round the city with their music pumping!

We really took a fly by tour of most places but really liked Auckland, Tauranga, Rotorua, Taupo, Wellington and Christchurch. I have to be honest we didn't think much of Napier but maybe we hit it at the wrong time of the year. Taupo was great, really really liked it there and I was pleased that we got there towards end of season, it must get pretty hectic there in the height of summer I reckon and I think we got away lightly.

We went to some really bizarre places that we just kept stumbling on but that's the sort of stuff you remember forever. To name a few we went to a Kiwi farm in the north somewhere near Rotorua/Tauranga, a prawn farm near Taupo, and for a laugh we trudged round Te Puia in Rotorua in those awful weatherproof macs that make you look like condoms!! That was hilarious as I haven't worn one of those things since I was a "really young and didn't know better" kid!

We also got to see the Te Papa museum in Wellie when they had the LOTR exhibition on. That was brilliant.

Everyone was just so nice to us and it was great to be a world away from the hectic, non-stop lifestyle we have in the UK. You really notice that people are so busy getting on with their speedy lifestyles when you come back with a bump. I still can't believe that the population of London is the same as the population over the entire country of NZ! We really noticed it.

I'm just so grateful for all your advice so thanks guys!

Yeah, we are pretty small...but big countries don't help them win Rugby!!!!

I'm glad you had an awesome time...you came at the right time...just getting into winter and most of the touristy things were out coz It was holidays a couple of weeks ago...(I'm not sure if you were here when they were on...)

Yeah we were in Auckland Easter weekend and Christchurch on Anzac day (it poured down with rain) but actually we didn't really notice that things weren't on. We got to do the stuff we wanted so that was really cool. We just loved every minute of it - oh to be there now!

It's just so wierd to be back though. We have a population of 55-60 million people in the UK and that's for an area of one of the NZ islands - probably the North Island is a good equivalent in size. The roads area really developed and traffic is horrendous in comparison and where we live in the South East, there is wide open countryside but that's fast running out. Some areas of NZ really reminded me of Scotland actually with all the hills and other areas were just out of this world!

I know where I prefer!!!

Yeah...it must've been pretty weird...I mean I notice the difference just going to Australia...Sydney has over 4million and we only have that many in our whole country!!!! I agree it does look like Scotland a bit, coz I went when I was 2...and I've got photo's and stuff...

Talking about Scotland...I have my Duke of Edinborough tramp this weekend...like soon!!!!

Unless...it's postponed till next weekend (which I can't do)...I'll find out at 9am...

Well I hope you really did have a good time here in NZ.

I.. erm... don't really know if there ever is a good time in Napier but.. yeah. :-?

You're lucky, they only just brought the LOTR exhibition back lately to Te Papa. It had it there a few years ago and only recently brought it back.

Yeah I heard that, I thought the exhibition was really cool but also I thought the whole museum was really good. Especially that blue whale skeleton, the was spooky!

So where do you guys live, I wonder if I've been to your home towns now! Also not knowing probably meant we planned our trip unbiased.

You sure have...

WELLINGTON!!!! Yeah...but we're both situated in Wellington but live in the suburban areas out of Wellington...so to get into the main town we have to travel like 40mins...(I guess, less for me I think)

When you were in Wellington, did you stay in the city centre??? or did you go out of Wellington City??

It's a separate city! Argh!

It.. is... not... the... same.. city. It is in the Wellingotn reeegion..

It all depends on traffic. You can get there really in 25 minutes at a reasonable speed with no traffic.

Unfortunately.. there's always traffic :-) .

Generally 40ish on average.

ha ha! We stayed in Newtown as my friend has an apartment there. We went out in the evening when literally the whole of Wellington did. Couldn't get over the number of people who were there as during the day there didn't seem to be that many and that was a Saturday night! I hear Friday's are the big night out there but for some reason on that weekend it was like a Friday - hope that makes sense?

Traffic! If you ever get over to London that's traffic! In fact we actually live on the outskirts of London as it costs a fortune to live in London plus also the pollution is pretty bad. It's a bit nicer on the outskirts as you have the best of both worlds, a bit of country and a bit of city life. London for me is a good day/night out but I don't think I could ever live there. Wellington however yeah could definitely do that!

Yeah that's true...but it usually gets held up by roadworks or just peak traffic...

Wellington is awesome at night I love it!!! When I've been in stageshows and stuff or gone to see them we always hang around town at night and go out for dinner or something...or If we go to the Embassy theatre...

The All Whites played Brazil in Brazil's last match before the World Cup...

Obviously we lost.. but a respectable 4-0 against the best in the world.
