Well, Slasher will have to leave you all sometime, because Ar'garotha is not only creating havoc here, but all over the world. And it seems as if the magic in Hogsmeade, being a magical-only street, seemed to protect the group somehow.

But as you saw, only a few, closer to a magical source, managed to survive the incident.

And as shown with Stan's recent clairvoyent abilities, there were side affects.

(Stan wasn't there at the time of the incident, but apparated just as the demonic surge powered through the Ministry of Magic; he survived because he only got half caught up in it. But he has side effects beginning to be revealed.)

I think it was more like: "You're beginning to to understand what I meant when I said open your eyes."

Maybe the rock is in another dimension or something.

I don't want it to be that only someone with a certain experience (such as seeing someone die) can see it.
